Swindle (2013 TV Movie)

Decent compared to what I was excepting
25 August 2013
Lately, it seems Nickelodeon has been going downhill from the releases of their new series', but when I saw them advertising for one of my favorite books I read in elementary school, I thought "Great. Now they're going to make a mockery out of this book." Surprisingly, that didn't happen. It flowed out smooth enough to take in the movie without too many judgements, but it didn't completely elude my judging. There were 2 things I didn't care for in this TV movie. One being it verged from the original story a bit. I kept waiting for the part when Ben would reveal his narcolepsy, but that never happened. Aside from that, I was disappointed that the final heist never happened in Swindel's house, instead in a hotel lobby. Nick definitely took away the most suspenseful part. The second thing I did not care for were Noah and Jennette's characters. Savannah was meant to be the animal lover and the dog whisperer. Instead she was an actress with really no part. Ariana's character wasn't even "Pitch", instead she simply went by "Amanda" (Which wasn't even her real name in the book). However, though Nick left out some of the scenes I was hoping to see, they did a pretty decent job and is easily re-watchable.

Paulie (1998)

Paulie will truly touch all bird owners
6 March 2013
Paulie was a movie meant to touch your heart. And it has done just that. Even more so if you own a bird. They are loyal and can greatly impact your life and surely will become your best friend. Paulie's journey is definitely one to remember and the relationship between him and Marie is pure and truly beautiful. Paulie himself is absolutely a great character himself, and his devotion to his girl is heart-warming. This movie will really tug on your emotions, as it has done for me. And it takes a lot for a movie to get to me, but Paulie made my emotions seep out. There were cute and amusing scenes and there were scenes so upsetting you cry. A great movie and I BEG you watch if you have a birdy best friend.

Don't see it

Warning: Spoilers
This movie may look cute, a wealthy puppy dog gets lost in the jungle and befriends jungle animals, but please, don't waste your time with it. It was poorly made, in fact, it looked like a video game probably done in 3 days. Just after 30 seconds of the movie you know it won't get much better. But, there were a few cute scenes as well, I must admit. Poor animation shows itself more times then one. Facial expressions are at times hard to read, when the ants come out of the anthill they disappear at the grass, right as the cranes are taking off in search of water, the 3rd one already has water in his bucket, rhinos walk through a table instead of over it, at times, the rhino houses had a glitch to make it look sparkly. And it got confusing at times, for instance, the rhinos are the self-appointed "Water Guardians" without explanation. Not a great movie, these are just a few errors listed above. I'm sure you can find more if you bother to watch this movie. Honestly, I'm not even sure the kids would like it. There are a few poop scenes as well. I rate this movie if I could "0.5". N-O.
