Jesus! What a great film destroyed by the last 30 minutes

The first 3 hours are definitely stunning.
Ben-Hur is a great epic with stunning 70mm cinematography and the story was top-level until, you guessed it - Jesus f'n Christ. I saw it a mile away that Jesus will cure Miryam and Tirza's leprosy which is ridiculous in itself, but the way in which it happened in the end was even more cheesy than expected. He didn't even touch them, they were just passers-by. If Jesus cured people's diseases just by dying wouldn't all diseases be eradicated right there on the spot?
And why didn't they show Jesus' face, is he Mohammed or something? Jeezus!
