Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Could be better but still great
I loved the first avatar movie when it come out and since then I've been waiting fascinating the sequel and I really liked but still the technical aspect of using High frame ratio in some scenes is absurd, they should make it all HFR or none, it looks like a pc gaming dropping frames when they change scene that use HFR and it really stop the immersion.
The dialogue is not his best on this movie and it remembers like Star Wars A new hope and force awakens, still using the same structure of making the world again after the long hiatus and opening for more avatars.
I hope it makes more senses with better dialogue with the futures movies but as a first movie opening the universe once again is astounding. I hope for the best with the next movies.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
The serie gets better when the protagonist doesn't appear on screan.
Honestly Bobba Fett would write the most boring book on the galaxy. The history is slow and doesn't go anywhere importan, Star Wars has a rich universe but still in the same desert planet trying to make a history since Star Wars 1977. 45 years and still the same thing.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Matrixn't
Probably the worst movie of 2021, I can't imagine the idea to make this movie, 1 hour of keanu been a video game designer, 1 hour on how to save Trinnity and 10 minutes of a final fight.
There's more on this movie I suppose but I can't find the plot because is just lazy bringing clips of the old matrix to explain things because they can't write properly the movie.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Best spider?
What has done Marvel is spectacular, people cheering in the movie like is a proper and funny amusement park. Of course one of the point on this movie is the nostalgia and how the multiverse is open in the cinematic universe, I loved how the antagonist is presented one by one and how the conflict is made, doesn't feel rush and bad thought, the cinematography and music is greatly better than the others one of this trilogy, much more mature.
I think at the moment this film is going to have a better impact than Thanos or even Ultron had. Multiverse is real.
No Time to Die (2021)
Bye bond
Probably I'm a little emotion about this last movie, is one of the best Bond in film history and it's finished now. It was a good idea to add a family, bond has had enough girls but it was nice to see with his love. The villain hands down is the best one, one who accomplished to kill a James Bond.
The filmography and sound is stellar, absolutely love any second on this, the action scene has weight in it, you can felt any moment that occur, the scenographic is also top notch and the design of the island including a old silo has the factory was fantastic.
Lethal Virus (2021)
Flat film
It's one of the worst movie of the year without a doubt. There's no history and planing about what is going to happen in the film, is amazing how 4 writers are unable of bring something to the table with a clear objective. The relationship between character are forced and it has a bad casting.
The Guilty (2021)
The Worst version
I should expected it but I was hoping to see a better remake with Jake Gyllenhall and he was the only good thing about the movie.
The story is rushed in comparison with the original The Guilty 2018, Why can the director let the history grow carefully and not throwing away like they did it, doesn't make sense. I hate how they change the end to be more american friendly with a happy ending with the kid saved, It does not have the same impact at how they explain the dead of the baby and how he was open.
I honestly hate all the decision made, is a movie with not emotion and a copy paste of the original.
Cruella (2021)
London is amazing
I wasn't expecting much from the movie but how they master the 60s London's looks is absolutely magnificent. The history about how Cruella is made to be evil doesn't seems forced at all making all his reason credible to the spectator, I can't recommend this movie enough.
Army of the Dead (2021)
The movie should not explain the beginning
How an armored military vehicle explode like that because of a car crash with a civilian? That's impossible including the fortifications with containers at last Vegas, I suppose the containers are from Evergiven.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
A previsible disaster
When I heard about a following movie about Saw I was thrill to see what they were going to do and once I found it was about a detective investigating the crimes it did look like a good premise but not only the bad writing spoils the movie but the previsible story about who the killer is since his death scene, the only one dead scene where we can't see him screaming for his live. The final scene is absurd the swat team can't stop a killer in a elevator and clear the room properly, everyone should wear glasses. The film would have been shorter.
