Nope (2022)
I enjoyed it for what it was
I looked forward to seeing this in the theater and I wasn't disappointed. It wasn't quite what I thought it would be but I'm glad the trailers I saw didn't give too much away. I enjoyed it for what it was.....somewhat comical at times, somewhat sci fi, ridiculous, more often than not, nonsensical. A little nonsense now and then is a good thing. Not everything has to be involved and so serious. I loved it!
A Haunting: Norman the Doll (2019)
Seems like a work of fiction
The original owner was a woman who gave birth to twins. The girl lived, the boy was stillborn. So this doll is supposedly haunted by the spirit of the boy who died. I find that ridiculous. That's basically saying that if the boy had lived, he would have been an evil child. An infant spirit trapped in a doll, ages, and is a 56 year old man still trapped in a doll.......over the top.
The video footage of the doll turning its head is conveniently filmed among a bunch of pillows. Easy for someone to turn the dolls head with their hand as their arm is hidden by the pillows.
The footage of the doll talking is also easy to fake with recordings or someone off camera talking.
The monster photo was laughable. It wasn't even a good fake.
IF this doll truly is haunted, the present owners bought it anyway knowing the history of it. You pretty much ask for what you get. To keep it and give it a room of its own after having issues with it is either insane or the whole thing is made up. I don't see much in the way of facts to support this story and it just doesn't seem genuine.
Titanic (1997)
Once was enough
James Cameron made a brilliant documentary, Titanic 20 Years Later. Quite honestly, with bits and pieces of this movie added, the documentary would have been brilliant and so much more worth watching than this movie. Being an amateur Titanic historian, I didn't care for the movie. With not much being known about what really happened on Titanic, the characters were dull, flat, and boring. The simple fact that Jack, Rose, and a few others were fictional made the story that much more boring. I sat through it once and I will never do it again. If you want to watch something Titanic, there are plenty of good documentaries out there.
Casting JonBenet (2017)
A Netflix Epic Fail
This should be called a "mockumentary". Nothing new to be learned here. Just a lot of role playing nonsense. A total waste of time. Typical of liberal Netflix.
Dracula (1974)
Jack Palance is the best Dracula!
I saw this movie for the first time years ago. I've seen about all the Dracula movies there is to see. This version impressed me the most and is definitely unforgettable. Jack Palance was a very handsom and attractive man. He made Dracula sexy and almost desirable in a way that other actors couldn't. So much so that I think it would have been better if Dracula had won the day and the girl. That not being the case, I still think this is, by far, the best Dracula movie of all time. Jack Palance not only brought his good looks, his portrayal of the part was excellent. Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time! 🙂
Conversations with a Serial Killer (2008)
Disappointing waste of time.
The first episode is about Ted Bundy. I was expecting to see or hear interview footage that I never saw before. What I actually saw was another bogus paranormal investigation show. Couldn't get the name right, Robert Theodore Bundy. LOL The trunk of a VW bug is in the front. Another LOL. Pictures of dust particles that are all identical looking is not evidence of orbs nor are EVP's that are recorded in a busy bar. Basically boils down to you will see and hear whatever you want to if that's what you want to see and hear. Total bs just like any other paranormal investigation show. If you want facts, don't watch this show. I would give it 0 if I could.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
Seasons 1, 2, and 3
I gave this show a 7 star review based on seasons 1 and 2 and the first 3 episodes of season 3.
The stories were great and I enjoyed trying to figure out who did what before the episode was over. The continuous talk about sex was a little much, got old fast, and was annoying. I took a star away just for that.
The forensics and medical examinations were interesting. Some things, of course, weren't realistic but Abby and Ducky were awesome characters. I loved Abby's goth thing she had going on and Ducky's stories were entertaining. Both were happy and chipper for the most part and made the show fun to watch.
Gibbs was also a good character. Serious, hardass, whether he was in the field or in the interrogation room. I liked his way of doing things.
Agent Todd's death was definitely unexpected and a serious loss to the show. The way she was seen by a few of her coworkers after her death was a little disturbing. It made Dinozzo and McGee seem very shallow and uninteresting characters after that. I took a star away for that. If Todd had been replaced by Cassidy, that would have been great. I personally didn't care much for Ziva. Also the NCIS director was replaced by a woman which I saw as a fail. A star lost for that.
After the 3rd episode of season 3, I just couldn't get into the show anymore. I could see this show going down a dark road after season 2. Some people may enjoy that but I don't. The show was ok for what it was in the first 2 seasons.
