I love the book and the movie so much that I did not want to watch the show at first because I was worried that they could have been killed the story and ruined it. And they did.

I hate it when you can't feel the chemistry between the characters. The first interaction was awful. I didn't see any reason for Dexter to approach Emma at the party. If Dexter was a womanizer, why didn't he just pick any pretty girl among hundreds at that party. In the book they get to talk before they actually meet and when they meet, Emma is not so pretty either. In the show, Dexter "fancies" Emma for what? They did not picture that well and Emma looked she didn't like Dexter at all. The only thing I liked was the lead male's performance. He was such a Dexter. But they had a great example of how should a Dexter be (movie). Overall it was not well studied.
