Bad Ass (2012)
loved it!!
This Movie was AMAZING! everything about this movie was great. you really felt for Danny Trejo's character Frank Vega. he is a Vietnam vet who no one cares about. jobless, loveless , and pretty much invisible until he protects this old black man from a pair of skin heads. then he becomes a local hero once the video becomes viral. he is celebrating his new found fame, until his best friends Klondike is murdered and the local police are doing nothing about it. he takes the job into his own hands. he becomes the judge, jury and executioner. after a lot of battles he finally comes face ti face with the man that killed his friend. the man who killed his friend did it because he was hired by the mayor of the city. after their fight he turns in the mayor and everything goes back to normal. besides one thing he has a girlfriend and a great life.
the director did an amazing job a choosing the actors, camera angles, lighting, and music. everything fit the movie perfectly. everything made you feel what the characters are feeling. you want to be inside the movie and be with them , fight the battles with him. you want to jump inside the screen and do the cops job for him. i would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. family , friends, any one who likes action, adventure, drama, love, and friendship.
The Hunter (2011)
love,loss,and deception
The beginning of the movie starts really slow, you don't really understand whats going on. then you figure out that martin is a mercenary hired to find and kill the Australian tiger formerly thought to be extinct. While in Australia he stays with this family. their father is a researcher for a university, he had seen the Australian tiger firsthand. martin becomes really close with the family and their mother. after a trip into the outback he returns to the house to discover that the men who hired him to capture the Australian tiger killed the whole family. martin becomes enraged and finds and kills the Australian tiger burns it and spreads the ashes. the director of the movie Daniel Nettheim did an amazing job with his choices of lighting , camera angles , actors, and soundtrack in this movie. all of his choices really set the mood and the tone of the movie. in every scene you can really feel what the characters are feeling. the drama, the love, the loss and the deception. everything in the movie seems very real. there is one scene that really makes you feel all of these emotions. when the men that hired martin kills the family that martin is living with when he gets angry and takes revenge . I would recommend this movie to anyone, I loved everything about this movie. I hope you will to.
True Grit (2010)
Good Movie Could be better
True Grit was an OK movie but it could've have been way better. The actors were convincing in their roles, but they could have had more emotion. There was something this movie was lacking. I cant really put my finger on it , but I know something is missing. The director could have done a better job at telling the story. Ethan Coen's choice on lighting and camera angles were OK. In the dramatic scenes the lighting was dark, and in the some what calm scenes the lighting was brighter. The use of camera angles were OK, could have been used in a way better manner. i would have done a lot of things differently, I would have added more drama, more emotion, things that would make you feel for the characters. The best scene in this film wads the ending scene where Ruben Cogburn saves Mattie Ross from a rattle snake bite. Overall the movie could have been way better. I would recommend this movie to families that have children and a younger audience.
Drive (2011)
Very Good movie
Drive was a very fascinating movie. Ryan gosling was very convincing in his role playing "driver". Driver is a mechanic/stunt driver, who lives in los Angeles.he has a very mysterious background no one really knows where he came from or who he really is. He meets this woman who lives in the same apartment building, he becomes really close to her and her son. The relationship between them becomes strained when her husband gets out of prison. driver witnesses her husband being beat up and tries to help him. he is the get away driver for the guy. unknowingly he gets involved with the mob. After a lot of killing and running away driver finally kills the leader of this group. In the end he drives out into the sunset all alone and bleeding. The director Nicolas Winding Refn did a fantastic job at telling the story in this movie. He made very good choices in the camera angles, lighting, and soundtrack. these choices really set the tone of the movie. Everything fit together perfectly. Overall this is a really good movie and everyone should see it!
A Little Bit of Heaven (2011)
AMAZING and very heart felt.
A little bit of heaven was a very good movie. This movie made you sad, happy, and inspired. Kate Hudson was very convincing in her role as Marley. Gael Garcia Bernal was also very convincing in his role as Julian. The Director Nicole Kassell did an amazing job at telling the story in this movie. Her choices for the soundtrack and camera angles did an amazing job at setting the tone and mood for the movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to family and friends. i wouldn't change a thing about this movie. anyone who is interested in romantic/drama movies should definitely watch this movie. Overall i thought it was an amazing movie and everyone should watch it!
Daydream Nation (2010)
Very Interesting
Daydream Nation was a very interesting movie. When i first watched it , I didn't quite understand it. The story line wasn't really matching up for me. Then I understood what was going on the further I got into the film. the love triangle, the pain, and the bipolar emotions, it was all becoming very clear. the director did an OK job at telling the story. for me it could have been clearer and more precise on what was really going on in the film. Maybe it wads just me. the mood of the film was very dreary. The only really happy part of the movie was the ending. i really don't know who I would recommend this movie to. there are not many people that I know who would really understand this film. Overall it was an OK movie.
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
Captain America. Very entertaining movie.
I recently watched Captain America on Netflix. Chris Evans was very convincing in his role as Steve Rogers aka Captain America. All of the actors and actresses were very convincing in their portrayal of their characters. The director Joe Johnson was very effective in telling the story of Captain America. His choice of lighting, camera angles, and soundtrack really set the tone of the movie. The plot of the movie was very well thought out. From beginning to end the movie was very enjoyable. If i had one complaint it would be the movie did not have enough action and drama than from what i had hoped. That's just my opinion though.. Overall this movie was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this movie to my friends, family, and to anyone who enjoys action, romantic, and some what comedic movies.
Act of Valor (2012)
Act of Valor Very heart wrenching movie.
The movie Act of Valor really pulled at my heart strings. To see a portrayal of what our navy seals actually do was very inspiring, and profound. The actors were EXTREMELY convincing. Every word they said really made you believe that they were real navy seals. The director Mike McCoy did an AMAZING job at telling the story in the film. All of his choices from camera angles to the soundtrack were very effective. The lighting especially made you feel like you are actually in the film. The director also made a very good choice in choosing the actors and their roles in the movie. The Act of Valor is a MUST SEE movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. I wouldn't change a thing about this film.
