Sinister 2 (2015)
Sinister poo
I work at a cinema and me and a friend watched this after hours. Sinister 2 is one of the worst movies I've seen this year and its definitely worthy of 4% on RT. The main character guy was lame as hell, seemed like he had autism, kids were annoying and bad actors, the mom was a bore, step dad was a over the top, and the monster looked like Michael Jackson wearing a Slipnot mask. The movie was like an accountants idea of what a profitable horror movie is, they take a little from as many successful franchises as possible... Children Of The Corn, Paranormal Activity, Saw, Insideus, etc and mixed them together into a s**t stew. The plot was straight up ridiculous, a bunch of nerdy ass ghost kids who wanna watch snuff films with you so that you get desensitized to the violence and kill your family. WTF? Why did the kids even need to be ghosts? in fact if this was an original movie that might have been a half way decent premise to make a story about a group of real kids who discover they're dads snuff film collection, go insane, and kill they're families. Maybe that was the original premise and they decided to make it a Sinister movie instead because sequels make so much more money. Sinister 2 relies almost entirely on jump scares with the occasional found footage torture scene involving characters we're never introduced to, so whats the point. I can go on and on about this atrocity of a movie but i'm tired... Don't support crap like this please, otherwise studios will keep making them.
Love & Mercy (2014)
One Of The Best Bio Flicks I've Ever Seen.
Love & Mercy is a fantastic movie! Artfully done, great soundtrack (naturally), and some Oscar worthy performances from both Paul Dano and John Cusack. Might be the greatest acting I've seen from Cusack, he and Dano perfectly captured the essence of Brian Wilson. The way the film jumps between Wilson's timeline was seamless and told an honest story about a genius artist struggling with a mental disorder while dealing with the negative relationships with the ones closest to him. Its also a great love story, John Cusack and Elizabeth Banks have great chemistry on screen. I highly recommend this film, I'm hoping Love & Mercy won't be overlooked because it's easily one of the best bio flicks I've ever seen. 9/10
