Doubt (I) (2008)
7/10
The Actors were better than the movie.
12 February 2009
The number one thing that I take from Doubt is the acting. It is absolutely outstanding. Meryl Streep is a close tie with Kate Winslet for Best Actress, and Amy Admas and Viola Davis are neck and neck in my opinion. Philip Seymour Hoffman really steals the show for me in this one, one of Hoffman's best performances ever. Streep also gives one of the best performances of her acting career. However this is all I get from this film, the acting. The plot and it's slow moving pace sort of turned me off. Don't get me wrong the story is outstanding and the concepts are good, but this film just moves a little too long for me. The actors outshine the plot. I realized this from the beginning. In my opinion this film highlights meaningless and unimportant characters far too much. The plot is overdrawn a bit too much. The actors save this from being just an average film however. Please see the film though, it is well worth the 2 hours. 7/10.

Dreadful
9 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Man where do you begin with this one. This was an early 1980's stinker if I ever saw one. Dear lord, words do not describe how bad this is. I only give it a four because I like Joseph Campbell. The acting (despite Helen Mirrin) was terrible. The sex scenes were even bad. I know what everyone says, this is a mythological film with symbols and meanings way beyond your comprehension, I say I understand all of the symbols and they are cool, but that does not change the fact that this film sucks. This is not a Friday with the girlfriend film, nor am I implying that it is. Merlin was a cheap rip-off of Sir Alec Gunniess and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Merlin is scary, and reminds me of a child pedophile. The fact is this film bored me to tears, and when it was over I cried with joy. I watched this in a Mythology class, and almost fell asleep. Even the teacher admitted it sucked, but as I said the Mythological importance of this film is very important. If you are looking for an ancient knight war movie, please do not watch. YOu will demand a refund from your local Blockbuster, or that Netflix return your membership fee for that film. AWFUL!!!!

It's not that bad.
6 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is just shot down and obliterated every time it gets reviewed. It's not that bad. Shatner takes the director's helm for this one, and that makes Star Trek fans uneasy. The only accepted Star Trek films are 2,3,4,6 and were all directed by Nicholas Meyer and Leonard Nimoy. Number 1 is terrible anyway and it should not be considered part of this wonderful collection of movies, but 5 should be because honestly it is not that bad. The script is a bit humorous at times, but the hijacking, escape, and mission with Sybok are all very entertaining. A true Star Trek fan knows this a good film, but certainly not the best. Shatner, Nimoy, Kelly, Luckibill, hell everyone puts up a good performance. Some compare Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to the three stooges, I find the roles entertaining but they still keep up on the task. So my best bet if you have not seen it yet, see it for goodness sake. Form your own opinion, don't listen to the panners and the Razzie Awards. NOT THAT BAD!

3D was the only good part
27 July 2008
This movie was another movie in the long line of only good because their in 3D movies. The story and acting was awful, and it felt like I was watching a cheap imitation of Indiana Jones. Brendan Friser's charm can't win this one (hopefully the Mummy 3 is better). The script is just awful and the movie was boring 10 minutes in. The movie was only about 90 minutes and it felt like it dragged on for hours and hours. The plot and some of the things that happen are just stupid and almost like a farce even for a Verne novel. My best bet, don't spend the extra fee theaters are charging for this 3D waste. The 3D effects are awesome, but wasted in this golden turkey.

Vantage Point (2008)
6/10
The Ending Saved Thie Confusing Beginning
23 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Vantage Point is a good adventure movie. The first time around that they show someones "Vantage Point" is cool. Then they show someone else's six times in a row just using different camera angles. My friends and I kept making fun of the whole 11:59 thing. It just kept starting over and over again. Slowly we progress to some new footage and then the movie finally gets good. The climax is very good, because it finally does intertwine all six "Vantage Points" into one. Dennis Quaid is cool and slick as ever, Matthew Fox is a nice surprise, Forest Whitaker as always is a really good actor. Sigorney Weaver is in the film for about 7 minutes, and is a total bitch. Overall not bad. 6 OUT OF 10 PG-13 for Violence, Language, Disturbing and Frigtening Images. At least check it out.

The Day Reagan Was Shot (2001 TV Movie)
5/10
Could Have Been Better
20 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This film was not a bad made for TV movie. It doesn't seem that all the facts are being put out during some scenes in the film. Richard Dryfuss is well placed as Al Haig. Same as Richard Crenna and Holland Taylor. And some of the side actors such as Beau Starr and Michael Murphy do fine as well. But the screenplay seems faulty at times, and you can tell it is a made for TV movie. You can also tell that Oliver Stone was involved in the project. The actors were right for this film, but the director and producers should have handled a different kind of film. Not an historical one. Don't buy it on DVD, either rent it or wait till it's back on the History Channel. HAs some f-bombs, that's the worst of the R rating.

Wonderful Film
13 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is just outstanding. This is a wonderfully acted film with plenty of history. But at the same time it combines enough history and enough suspense to make it great. It does not bore you like some historical films do. With a wonderful script and great direction this film shines. But it would not be the same without the three main actors at the bill. Bruce Greenwood, Kevin Costner, and Steven Culp. These three performances are three of the best that I have seen in a while. I loved this film and if you like history and suspense you will to. Check it out. Bruce Greenwood is outstanding as President Kennedy, probably the best role of his career. Has some cussing that's really all though. Loved it!!

Funny If You LIke The Show
14 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Just hysterical. I loved it. It had a random plot and I absolutely loved it. The Moonites are back, The Robot of Christmas PAst, just hysterical stuff. The humor and the things that happen are awesome. It's like a giant episode thats uncensored. I loved all 85 minutes of it. Especially the beginning and end sequences. If you love the show, you will love this. My friends and I were rolling in the movie theater. We also visit old characters from episodes and are reminded of the birth of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Carl returns and him and Milkshake provide most of the comic relief. The Swiss Army Teddy Bear. LOL. Check it out. You will love it if you like the show. Rated R for Language, Sexual Content, Cartoon Violence, and a Drug Reference.

Deserves More Credit Than It Gets
24 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The Halloween saga continues in this very good installment. The film is very short, but the scares and the fun continue on even after the movie is over. While Halloween 2 was a very gory film, Halloween 4 is a tad gory, but the scares are fresh and new. Some people say that the Myers mask used in this film is bad, I actually like it. Dwight Little does a great job of refreshing the plot. A new sheriff, and a new damsel in distress (played wonderful by Danielle Harris), and of course everyone's favorite Donald Pleasence as the trench coat adversary Doctor Loomis. Micheal Myers is played by rookie George P. Wilbur who returned in Halloween 6. The gore in the film is a side note, but comes in at great times. The shotgun through the stomach is awesome. The beginning credits are very creepy, and the gas station scene is awesome. Loomis gets thrown through a door, looks like they forgot to dye Micheal's hair. LOL. Actually the truth behind that mask is it is actually the real William Shatner masked. It was put in the film for just s few seconds I guess is some tribute to Shatner. LOL. IDK. Pretty stupid. Just makes the editing look bad, but oh well. Great Film. Watch it by yourself. I did. The ending is the best part of the movie, but Dominic Orthin whatever is name is ruins it in Halloween 5. The last minute is thrilling and makes you wonder. 7 out of 10.

Rated R for Strong Blood/Gore Violence, Language, and Partial Nudity.

Best Film I've Ever Seen
20 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This film is absolutely sensational. The funniest movie I've ever seen. Although my title is a bit over doing it this film is outstanding and deserves the best picture nod. (This was written before the 2007 Oscars). The whole concept in itself is first of all hysterical, and the acting, direction, and screen writing are sensational. The movie can be a little sad because you feel bad for some of the things that happen. Even with the little bit of glum that is in the film, it supports a strong and hysterical theme. Family no matter what. Some of the things that happen are absolutely hysterical. The grandfather's death is not that funny, but his body being removed from the hospital is just hysterical. Absolutely wonderful film. And Greg Kinnear's BS about being a winner. LOL. Awesome movie. A little inappropriate so think before taking your kids. "Get yourself a fag rag"- Alan Arkin, LOL. Abigal Breslin is the cutest girl I have ever seen. Her performance is Oscar worthy and she is a doll. Steve Carrel and Paul Dano are hysterical as well. Awesome cast. Go see now. BEST PICTURE OF 2007. Rated R for Language, Drug Content, and Some Sexual Content. See IT NOW.

What the f**k is this
17 February 2007
This is perhaps the worst horror film, I have ever seen. My friends and I went to see this. We were laughing so hard when people began to die. The death's in this film are so funny. The film makes you wonder who the producer is, so you can call him and tell him to end his job, while he is still ahead. John Carpenter's version from 1980 was awesome. What in the hell happened here? Tom Welling and company suck. I like Welling in Smallville, and Cheaper by the Dozen, but this does not work out for him. Don't watch, even the Unrated cut, it's even worse. Watch something useful like Halloween or Batman Begins. Something that is not crappy.

Rated PG-13 for Violence, Language, and a Scene of Sexual Content.

Romero (1989)

Great Film
13 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Romero is easily one of the best films made in the 1980's. The film is astounding. It is in fact very depressing, but shows the cruel and unusual ways of the San Salvadorian government in the 1970's. The film is violent and sometimes disturbing. I showed this film to my freshman classes at school, and they were somewhat disturbed. The main reason this film is so good, is Raul Julia's performance. His role as Oscar Romero really gave light to the film, and also impressed many of my students. His assassination scene is handled very well. Great Film. You must see this wonderful adaptation of you are to get the truth of what happened in Oscar Romero's life.

Rated PG-13 for Strong Violence, Language, and some Sexual References.

Was a Little Bit Let Down
26 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
When I rented this the other day I was thinking how funny this was going to be. I was comparing this to other Leslie Neilsen films such as The Naked Gun films, Airplane, Mr.Magoo, and Scary Movie 3. I was surprised. Don't get me wrong the film was funny in certain points, just not the large amount of laughs you get from the Naked Gun. Neilsen uses the same antics from The Naked Gun, which is good if the film is just as funny, but it does not match up. The funniest part in the film is the bike flashback, and the convent. If you like Leslie Neilsen rent it, but don't be let down like I was. I watched this with my five year old cousin, and it was appropriate for him. This movie was overrated by the MPAA.

PG-13 for Language and a brief scene of sex.

This is great!!!!
12 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was awesome. The critics do not know what they are talking about. This is absolutely amazing. Thrilling action and a great performance by Harrison Ford. A great script by Joe Forte helps too. Best part is when Stanfield (Ford) beats the guy in the eye with the coffee pot. Get some new eyes People magazine cause you don't know a good movie when you see one. Paul Bettany also stars to perfection. Also a big movie premiere from Mary Lynn Rajskub who is 24's Chloe. Great movie 9 out of 10.

Rated PG-13 for violence and language.

See it soon.

It's so true and the movie was awesome
31 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers!!!!! Oliver Stone shares with us his movie making talent as he expresses his right and truthful opinion on the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Henry Clay Shaw is portrayed to Oscar caliber by Tommy Lee Jones and Kevin Costner shines. Go buy the director's cut. Brace yourself for the grisly scene as Kennedy's brain's are blown out. Look for Donald Sutherland in a 15 minute role which was played wonderful. Buy it. It's f***** unbelievable. Oliver Stone and Jim Garrison share the same opinion. Look for Garrison in the role of Chief Justice Earl Warren. Rated R for Strong Language, Violence, and a scene of drug content.
