Malevolence (2003)
Amazing Slasher/Horror Movie!
After reading and hearing things about Malevolence for over a year, i finally got to see it on Sept 11, 2004, out in Long Island, NY. When we arrived at the movies, we got there about an hour and a half early, so we just walked around the theater for a little while, and then in the middle of the theater, we found a little table with a big Malevolence display next to it, and then we realized that sitting at the table was Stevan Mena, the writer/director, and Brandon Johnson, the actor who played Julian in the film. It was cool to actually meet the guys behind the movie i was about to watch. So we talked to them for about a good hour until we decided to head into the theater. Thats when the fun began.
For the next 90 minutes that followed, i actually felt creeped out, and i was fully convinced that the year long wait was well worth it. The film tastefully payed homage to the great slasher movies of the 70s and 80s. Simply put, Malevolence is a no humor, straight up horror and is one of the best Horror films i have seen in a long, long time. i recommend this film to any horror fan who enjoys a good scare.
