A Classic
12 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's a classic for many reasons. First, of course, is the famous Sharon Stone crossing of the legs. She now claims she had no idea she'd be exposed, which I guess everyone should assume when they're wearing a short skirt and no underwear. I guess she didn't realize we'd see her B( o )( o )BS when she took her clothes off and rode Michael Douglas like Paul Revere announcing the arrival of the Brits. You know what? She knew exactly what she was doing, who would see what and she played the part perfectly. It's just a shame the woketivists have her denying it. Yeah, I got carried away, figure out the other reasons yourself.

Historic Revisionism
20 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is about the collapse of Gary Hart's 1988 Presidential bid once his affair with Donna Rice was exposed. The film gives the conflicting points of views; Hart's that it's none of their business and the press should afford him the unwritten rule that the media look the other way on extramarital affairs, as they had done with JFK & LBJ, and the media's point that if a candidate cheats on his wife and lies to the press about it, is he trustworthy enough to be Presidential of the United States?

While the film is a historic docudrama, it contains several inaccuracies which can mostly be chalked up to woke revisionalism. The moral conscience of the film is a Washington Post reporter named A. J. Parker played by Mamoudou Athie. However, unlike most of the characters in the movie, Parker never existed and is actually a conflation of the New York Times' E. J. Dionne (the reporter who in real life was told by Hart to follow him) and The Washington Post's Peter Taylor. Parker is actually the mandatory revisionist inclusion of a black player where no black person existed. Both Dionne and Taylor are white, neither can be described as the conscience of media.

The film portrays Rice as a victim, saying the affair would haunt her for the rest of her life and through "every job interview". What the movie doesn't mention is while both Rice and Hart have - to this day - denied there was anything sexual about their relationship, Rice turned her notoriety from the affair into a career as a model, writer and speaker which, in turn, has made her a millionaire.

The movie goes to great lengths to talk about how the media has to "tabloidism". As mentioned above, they talk about the unwritten rules of protecting public figures' privacy. The implication is the media of the past had a greater morality. Of course, this isn't true. Media is, has been and will always be a FOR PROFIT institution. They will, have always and forever more will publish anything that will make them more money. The only reason the media of the first three-quarters of the 20th Century refrained from reporting on sexual affairs is we were in an era where the public considered such reporting distasteful and it would have backfired on them. It was simply a matter of profitability. If you think the media pre-Hart didnt report on sexual affairs, look up the Hamilton/Reynolds affair or the Jefferson/Hemings affair.

It wasn't the media that changed, it was the American appetite. Within 4 years Bill Clinton was elected President amid numerous allegations of infidelity, most prominent among them Gennifer Flowers.

And Yes, They're Real!
1 June 2022
This is a BRUTALLY bad movie. I don't know which is worse; the acting, the story or the cinematography. It's just bad from top to bottom, beginning to end. BUT, Teri Hatcher gets naked a few times and talks dirty so I gave it a 10!

***YAWN***
9 January 2022
What a snoozer!!! I don't know what was worse; the uneventful plot, the tedious pace, or Ben Affleck apparently convincing his castmates a fake Boston accent is the same as a Long Island accent. There wasn't even the gratuitous booby shot the give some salvation to the movie. In the only sex scene Briana Middleton - whose boobs would surely have done the job - had her back turned. Do yourself a favor, don't bother.

Love period films
27 February 2021
I think my main disappointment with this film came with them not specifically naming Baldwin's character as Robert Moses, as it's so very clear that's who he is. It also gives us a glimpse of how powerful Moses was, but - I believe - still falls short expressing exactly how powerful he really was. Moses was the most powerful man in New York City and State, and top 10 in the country, if not top 5, for over 40 years, all this without ever holding an elected office. Outside of that I thought it was a great flick.

Not even naked chicks in the pool saved this one!
25 November 2020
OMG! What a piece of crap! Yes, I said it, not even two naked A Cups cavorting in the pool made this movie watchable. Hollywood types gather to celebrate the anniversary of a very obviously gay Brit writer/director and his 30 something "over the hill" American actress wife. Personal conflicts that only self-absorbed narcissistic turds can relate to are revealed but the plot never is. Hey, but you do get to see Wreck It Ralph in a serious roll as one of the A Cup's husband!

Excellent Historic Movie
17 June 2020
What an excellent movie. There were several things I loved about this movie. First, in all too many non-fiction movies, when you research the actual events, you find the director has taken extreme liberty with their literary license. In this case, as amazing as the story seems, the filmmakers stuck very close to real events. Second, the story is so gripping, and the film is done so well, you rarely notice the dubbing. I much prefer well-done dubbing over subtitles any day. Excellent production, fantastic story, highly recommended.

Trine Dryholm
2 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As far as I can tell, the only reason they made this movie was to see Trine Dryholm naked, which accounted for six of the seven stars I gave the movie. The movie starts with some dude deserting the German Army and hitching a ride to his parents' house as they happen to be vacationing in Italy. However, his brother - who he hates apparently because he's hardworking, responsible and has a hot Danish girlfriend (Dryholm) - and the hot Danish chick are staying there already. He falls in love with the girlfriend and eventually bangs her before being taken away by the MPs. In betwee there is tons of long, boring dialogue, excruciating lengthy shots of characters sitting doing nothing, subplots that make no sense and are never drawn to a conclusion and seeing Dryholm naked twice.

Great historic accuracy
28 February 2020
This is a fantastic story and what I loved was when I checked the movie for historic accuracy they had stuck very close to the facts. Of course, they do take some literary license to increase dramatic effect, but it's kept to a minimum and, pretty much, what you see is the way it happened. When I watch Ben Kingsley I see the character first and the actor after; that's the way it should be done.

Expected More
10 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I have always loved Elton John's music, in fact, my first album was Yellowbrick Road, but I was disappointed the songs were not only out chronological order - important in a biopic - but were often presented as being the thoughts of Elton John, some even before he meets Bernie Tauplin, who we know wrote those lyrics. 7 just for being about Smeltin Elton, lower had it been anybody else.

Not Even the Hot Naked Chick Could Save This
18 July 2019
On the bottom of IMDB reviews it asks to check if spoilers are included. Have no idea how to check that here because the movie has no plot. Holy Crap! What a snooze fest! I don't think if you muted the movie and fast forwarded to the naked parts even that would make this movie tolerable.

You get to see Lindsay Lohan's ample bosom in this movie. I can think of a single other redeeming quality.

Great Battle Scenes
17 November 2017
The battle scenes in this movie are incredible. In one scene they show so accurately how the British infantry formed squares to fend off a French cavalry attack. My only criticism of the movie is they did so much to create these great battle scenes but yet when they showed central characters on horseback it was so completely obvious they weren't on horses and in front of a green screen. I know the moview was made in 1970 but it's almost comical to watch. Overall a great movie though.

Done for Harvey Weinstein Gratification
15 November 2017
This movie was dull and predictable. About the only highlight was you get to see Ana Claudia Talancón naked a couple of times which is why I suspect the movie was done, so Harvey Weistein could get his chance with her. She hasn't come out as one of his victims yet, probably only a matter of time.

Junk
22 August 2016
This is without a doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen; maybe not top five but definitely top ten. Put it this way, I have only ejected a DVD before a movie was over twice before, this came close to being the third. The only thing that kept me watching was all the beautiful naked women. I'm trying to figure out if the director of the movie put all the naked women in to keep people like me watching until the end of the movie, or if this incredibly ridiculous movie was made as a way for beautiful women to get naked on screen. Either way, it was a waste of time. The app won't let me submit this review until I write 10 lines and there is really not much more to say so this part here is just fill until I can hit submit and let people know how bad this movie is.
