One of the worst prequels/sequels ever made, horror or not...
5 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Either these movies are made by people who don´t know the original material, or they just don´t care. The First Omen is another Fox/Disney cash grab mess. What could´ve been a good prequel, turned out to be another unimaginative movie. In this Rosemary´s Baby meets Alien Resurrection (Yes, we have several failed birth attempts, but instead of Ripley, now is Maria Scianna), we no longer have a prophecy, but a decision by the darkest side of church to bring the AntiChrist to life, so it can bring more followers to the Christian faith. There is no comet, Father Brennan instead of being repentant for his actions is now a priest/detective, theres´s no mention of his 666 birth mark, he doesn´t witness the birth, we don´t see him at the hospital and Damien is born from a woman instead of a jackal and has a twin sister.... I just went home and rewatched The Omen (76) so I could forget this terrible nun show. The Omen (76) is one of my top favorite movies ever and this awful bad thing actually resembles the purpose of the antiChrist in this movie, it will surely bring more followers to the original movie.

A Navy Seal woman...
21 October 2021
Another change of races from the original material to please modern audiences. The dumb ones at least. Another woke masterpiece. A Navy SEAL woman, black, obviously. Michael B Jordan is terrible, like always. All the money wasted in this could´ve bought a lot of food to starving people all over the world.

Rambo´s twin brother. Or impostor. Or impersonator.
17 May 2021
It seems that John Rambo has a twin brother, or something like that. Gone is the long hair, gone is the iconic facial scar the he got while being tortured on Part II (plastic surgery?), gone is the knife sheath worn on his left leg (Rambo impostor prefers the right side). Now we have a tunnel rat, that happens to be an upgraded version of Kevin McCallister. Who has a kidnapped niece, so he needs to go Liam Neeson. Anyway, as a life long Sylvester Stallone fan since the early 80´s, i always enjoy watching him. That´s why i give it a 5/10. And as a Rambo fan, that´s why i wrote this.

Zatoichi vs Predator or What modern Hollywood should be doing instead
31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
ZVP, or Zatoichi vs Predator is a 2017 fan film, or professional short film from Japan written and directed by Junya Okabe. I say professional since its director has a long career already. Shintarô Katsu is mostly known for playing the iconic character of the blind swordsman and masseur Zatoichi in 26 movies plus a tv series. He sadly passed away in.1997. This time around, he is played brilliantly by Shun Sugata. Here, our hero shows up to help out a distressed noble young woman that already helped him before by giving him rice to eat. What follows next, is a combination of cyborg warriors with the appearence of a masked misterious warrior. All this in shape of a trailer that could´ve been a great motion picture, mixing ninjas, samurais, Zatoichi, cyborgs, Predator and even some Star Wars. Hollywood executives should indeed watch this 8 minute short film and learn something from it. Watch it, and you´ll wish you could see more. If they released this on dvd or bluray, i would buy it. It´s that good.

There´s no fate but what you make...not anymore...
2 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well, remembering James Cameron´s own words, that Terminator Genisys was the true T2 sequel...it flopped...now we know that the true sequel is Terminator Dark Fate...It flopped...We´re waiting for the third attempt. The movie starts with John Connor being killed in 1998. If they stopped judgment day on T2, how come we have another terminator to kill John Connor ? Moving on, Skynet was destroyed, now we have Legion, with a female leader of the human resistance that needs to be protected. So it means, that no matter what you do, no matter how many times you prevent the war, it will always going to happen. So, the "there´s no fate but what you make for yourself" makes no sense. Cameron already destroyed, or denied everything he did and said on the first movie when he made the second (nothing dead will come thru on the time displacement machine, yet we have a liquid metal cyborg), now he did it again. Where do the terminators that Sarah Connor has been destroying over the years come from ? We already know that studios don´t care about the mithology behind these franchises, they only care about money. But having movie directors not caring at all about their own creations is more than sad. It´s pathetic. Maybe they only care about money as well.

In response to "imseeg" review
25 January 2020
You start your review with "So terrible I had totally forgotten it existed. And so did Tarantino himself since he doesnt look upon it as one of his feature films." 1-Reservoir Dogs, 2-Pulp Fiction 3-Jackie Brown 4-Kill Bill vol.1&2 5-Death Proof 6-Inglourious Basterds 7-Django Unchained 8-The Hateful Eight 9- Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The debate about Kill Bill being two movies was already settled by Quentin Tarantino himself. It counts as one movie. "imseeg", know your facts right before writing idiotic reviews !

Nick Nolte steals the show.
20 December 2019
Although the first film was a copy of the way much better Die Hard, i still enjoyed it. Gerard Butler was cool as the super secret agent. The sequel was inferior but had some nice action sequences. This one you all should watch not for Gerard Butler, but for Nick Nolte. The pacing was not so good, story way too predictable, Gerard looks tired and the poor CGI doesn´t help. Nolte makes every movie he is in better, like Hulk (2003). He is one of those actors like Mickey Rourke. Wherever they are, they steal the show. They should quit on Gerard Butler and make an all new franchise based on Nolte´s character. Watch it then you will see that i am right.

A classic masterpiece
12 November 2019
One of the best movies of the genre ever made. The start of the deconstruction of the action hero. Don´t care about other negative reviews of millennial idi*t users like "milliejprice" who rated Predator 3/10 but rates Us and Thor Ragnarok with a 7/10 or "gilgongo1980" that rates Predator with a 5/10, John Carpenter´s The Thing 2/10, Escape From New York with a 3/10, The Terminator with a 4/10, Evil Dead(1981) with a 2/10, Rocky Balboa with a 3/10, but rates Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines with a 6/10, Dredd with a 9/10, Avengers Endgame 7/10 and AVP2 Requiem with a 6/10......

Good movie.
4 March 2019
If you like boxing and WWII dramas, this movie is for you. Personally, i prefer the also based on a true story movie about the greek boxer Salamo Arouch, filmed in the real Auschwitz camp, "Triumph of the Spirit (1989) with Willem Dafoe.

Magnificent Rami Malek
2 November 2018
Although the movie feels a little bit rushed at times, it still is a very good way to know about the band Queen and its lead singer Freddie Mercury. The sets, wardrobe and performances are good, but Rami Malek as Freddie really stands out. I smell an Oscar nomination. The music is obviously great and i found myself tapping my feet on the ground all the time while watching it. If you love Queen and Freddie Mercury, you´ll love this.

Thor with an Australian accent
12 August 2018
Well, there´s not much to say. Chris Hemsworth said he couldn´t play Thor with his Australian accent. Well now he did it. That just proves the bad actor he is and how bad this film is. Bad acting, bad pacing, bad music, not funny and bad CGI. Why this has 8 and Captain America (1990) has a 3 and Nick Fury (1998) has a 3 ? I don´t know.

I still wonder how he won an Academy Award !
5 August 2018
I was actually curious to watch this film. But Nicolas Cage performance as usual is so bad, it makes the experience excruciating. He has few good movies, but indeed not because of him. He truly is one of the worst actors that ever lived. I can´t undestand how he still manages to be cast in movies. Casting directors must be deaf, blind, well paid or don´t know nothing about acting. That Academy Award is still a joke...

Great show !
21 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Great series.Ola Rapace proves he can be a leading man. He's a good actor and charismatic enough to hook you to the screen. Louise Nyvall, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Yayaying Rhatha Phongam and Gerhard Hoberstorfer all give solid performances. Rickard (Rapace) is an ex criminal living in Thailand for the past 10 years since he left Sweden with a price on his head. His real name is Ruben Brandt and he lives at the beach, spending his time working at the local bar, having sex with female tourists and at the cock fight underworld. His life changes when his 15 year old daughter comes to find him and now he's exposed again and in danger. What follows next is a fight for survival, since his past tracks him down. From Swedish thugs to Thai drug lords, Rickard must do what he can to make sure he and his daughter make it out alive. Sweaty, sexy, violent and suspenseful, you really feel you're on location with the characters at the bars, beaches, dirty alleys, cock fights, prisons and markets. The photography and production design are wonderful, magical yet realistic. Every episode ends with the "what will happen next" mystery making sure you will return to the next episode. As the director said, if you like character-driven dramas with a tense-thriller element, you will love this show.

Get Out (I) (2017)

Get Out or Get Away...from this movie.
12 June 2017
I usually never write reviews. I sincerely have no patience for it. But this time i had to do it. Possible SPOILERS ahead, but then again, who cares ? It starts from the beginning, it gives away, in my opinion the entire movie. Until the end only in one scene, when our main character leaves his bed for smoking outside we feel a bit of tension, but still, nothing special. There's no tension, no rhythm. A complete borefest and a bad rip off of The Stepford Wives and The Skeleton Key. You know there is a problem with a movie when the comic relief, played by our main character's best friend says the same joke over and over again. Boring, pretentious, unoriginal, predictable and stupid. If you happen to like racist movies,or happen to be in a "hate the white race mode", i totally recommend this movie. Watch Sharknado instead. It's bad, but at least it doesn't try to be something it's not.

On the Top 250 ?
3 June 2014
I'm not even going to bother in analysing this piece of rubbish.Matt Damon is one of the most overrated actors ever. And this movie only serves to prove it ! The top 250 is sometimes a joke, starting with the number one movie. Not bad, but is one of the most predictable stories ever told. There are with no doubt way much better films below. But that's another thing. What matters is that Ultimatum is a mediocre film. Your head will be shaking after seeing this. These days if you have enough CGI and camera shakes you have a good film. When you squeeze that sponge, no talent comes out of it. Hollywood and the directors they hire these days haven't learned anything with the past. It's all about the money. The only purpose is to feed lazy minds. Avoid this if you can !
