This is one of my all time favorite movies. Both Linda Evans and Jack Thompson played their parts totally convincingly and with a feeling that communicated itself to the audience. It was not only a great drama but one of the best romantic films I have seen. After watching this movie, I became a Jack Thompson fan and have ordered many of his movies to view. The rest of the cast also did an outstanding job. The conditions in the Outback during a drought were pictured very realistically. I enjoyed the camel races in Alice Springs, the visit to the Aborigine camp and became interested in the issue of drilling for water. For this viewer, the film was not only a very well done romantic drama but also an educational one. I spent hours reading about Australia.I hope it soon becomes available in a region one format so that North American viewers can enjoy the film.
