Scream Queens (2015)
Don't Listen To The Haters...
Don't listen to the haters on here preaching about how awful this show is. I found it to be hilarious and nostalgic! I am from the 90's generation and loved how this show brings back that era. I will admit that the humor is dark and cruel but that's what gives it it's charm. It's not a show to be taken seriously by any means but it is a fun show for a few laughs. Take it for what it is (satire) and have fun with it. People these days tend to take things so serious and miss the point. As for the horror aspect at this point it kind of falls short of the mark. Emma Roberts nails it as the queen Bi#$h though and she is easy on the eyes to look at. At this point I'm loving it and will keep watching.
The Bastard Executioner (2015)
Not a good start...
As an SOA fan I decided to give Mr.Sutters new show a shot and all though it was not terrible it just didn't hit home for me. The two hour season premiere felt like it dragged on. Some scenes just felt ridiculous and uncalled for. One example is a man having a bowel movement with grunting sound effects. The only thing I could think of at that point was.. Am I watching an episode of South Park? Was that necessary showing a man struggle to drop a deuce? I mean I could be knit picking here but I found that uncalled for. Katey Sagal was a comforting face and I really love her as in actress. Her playing a witch was about the only cool thing for me. Also Stephen Moyer(True Blood)did a pretty good as well but the rest of the cast felt extremely mediocre. Not to mention some terrible British accents to boot. As for story telling It definitely has the Sutter flare to it. Either you love it or hate it!
All in all at this point not a good start in my opinion but I will keep watching for now. At least a few more episodes and hope for some improvement.
The Leftovers (2014)
I See Potential Here
Right now the show is getting mixed reviews. Some people were not impressed with the pilot episode, claiming that it did not give enough information. Some people have no patients and want instant gratification. The whole plot of the show is the mystery behind the disappearances and giving away to much in the pilot would be a mistake.
In any case I found the pilot to be loaded with potential and kept me entertained from beginning to the end. It was also nice to see Liv Tyler in the show and hope she becomes a solid leading role. The only thing that really bothered me was the killing of the dog in beginning but that kind of gets a explanation towards the end of the episode.
I will be keeping up with this show to see how it progresses but I am confident it will pickup. Its HBO so the quality and story telling will be top notch.
