Pacific Rim (2013)
It wasn't great, a little stupid, but it was the most fun I've had with a movie in awhile
There's not much else that I can say other than giant robots punching kaijus (Giant monsters). I've watched kaiju films since I was a kid, and really, all pacific rim is, is a special effects leap. A very large one. Though other than that, don't expect to actually take anything away from the plot, we're just here to watch giant things punch each other. However, none of the chars were un-like able to the point where they were annoying, and even though there was close to no development, it sort of felt like there was something to lose if some of the pilots died. My final point is the soundtrack, which just makes everything feel more massive, from the guitar to the sirens of the jaeger. Over all, not much plot or characters, but this movie, was probably one of the coolest things I've seen.
The Killer Shrews (1959)
I found this film entertaining, you should to
Of course this wasn't a master piece, it was a b movie. But as far as b movies go, it was entertaining, it was relatively clever, and I enjoyed the acting, again not the greatest acting ever, but I enjoyed it. The shrews were just dogs in a costume, but it's better than the cgi sequel return of the killer shrews. Some down sides of the film is because the effects aren't great, almost every b movie cliché has been followed, such as the Black man dying first, and the jerk in the film dies off around the end. This would be a great movie to show at horror themes parties, watching a movie during Halloween. I have given it the title of the best b movie I have seen. Give it a watch.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Eh, give it a watch maybe you'll like it
I just don't see the characters i grew up with while watching this film. Does that make it bad? Well unless the respect the original traits. What really annoys me is that there are a good amount of scenes where they just ignore the original character and annoy many scooby fans. The acting is well.....some performances is acceptable while others make you laugh at how over acted it is. The sets though are actually creepy, like the abandoned ride scene was like walking into a Tim Burton dream. Although the sets are cool, it wasn't enough to save this film. The cgi for the monster( though I don't really care about effects) are bad, just 1 ugly design. Also I guess this could give away the movie a bit but I think it can slide. You see the shadow of he creepy clown looking monster? Oh you saw I'm in the trailer? Guess what? First 15 mins and he's caught. Then why is he on the front cover you may ask? Well because the real villains are well.....not what fans wanted. That's all I'm going to say, I think it is a pretty bad movie, and I would've given it a 3, if it weren't for those sets. So I don't like it but I still recommend you to give it a watch.
The Mask (1994)
I don't normally watch Jim Carry, but when i do, i do it right.
I love the Mask. The movie was just like a big cartoon, and fortunately enough, I am immature enough to love this childish humor. The effects were acceptable because it was meant to look like a cartoon. The jokes were funny if you have a little bit of a child at heart. I may be overrating this film, and i feel as i am, but its just the love of these nostalgia cartoons that makes me love this film. I cant say anything more, its just him Carry's best film to me, and deserves a little more recognition. This movie set out a cartoon series(which was not as good since the joke of putting a cartoon in real life is gone) and eventually a sequel, which i did not enjoy much either. The beauty was Jim Carrys over the top acting in this role. It does not work in many characters but is PERFECT for the chaotic mask. My opinion, I'm overrating it a bit, but go watch it.
Batman & Robin (1997)
my god......what has this world come to....
I love Batman. I PRAISE almost every single film. I even liked the Adam west film, because it was just fun, and there was no dark tone to live up to. THIS movie however MOCKED the standards that Tim Burton set. MOCKED?? IT PRATICALLY RAPED THE DARK TONE. The acting is bad, the plot is extremely cliché, the dialouge is cheesy, and I can not comprehend how they display Batman and Robin. Batman is not dark, is not mysterious, but instead goes as a guest star and percipitate at fund raisers! Robin, by god all you can hear from a dialougge is a infant being drowned! There's just complaining left and right. The only thing i enjoyed in this film, this 2 HOUR AND 5 MINUTES FILM IS THE CREDITS SO I CAN CURSE THE NAME AT EVERY LIVING BEING WHO HAD TO DO WITH ANYTHING IN THIS FILM AND SEND A ARMY OF FLESH EATING BATS TO URINATE ON THEIR HOMES. ugh, sorry...im just typing down what i'm saying. Now in reality, joel wanted to go back to a lighter tone, which i respect, but in the end, this is just a grease stain on the reputation of batman films. I would like to forget it BUT THEY KEEP AIRING IT ON TELEVISION.
