Johanna (2005)
Glad
I'm so glad to know that I've already seen the worst movie of my life.. This was a ridiculous movie, both story and acting were so bad, that I could only leave the theater with a smile on my face, knowing no movie would ever beat this one! You should know I watch art-house-movies on a regular basis, but this one went way too far in trying to renew the fine art of movie-making.
I must say I'm not a great fan of opera, so that may have been quite good. For those who do like opera, maybe you should rent this movie, but make sure you turn of your TV-screen and that you don't understand a word of the Hungarian language.. Seriously, those things will ruin your experience.
Léon (1994)
unrealistic and shallow story
I'm sorry for all the Leon fans, but this is truly the most overrated movie I've ever seen.. I will show you why..
First of all, Leon is a personage which is as shallow as his own plant! All he does is kill people and act like he's alone in the world. And than, this girl comes in his life which changes his way of thinking: hmm... not all people are bad..
Which brings me to my second statement: The story is unbelievably predictable.. An assassin who is totally isolated from the rest of the world is almost forced to live with a child that was not loved, even though it is the sweetest girl in the world. They learn to know each other and he starts to like her. In the end, they are in an inevitable miserable situation, saves her. He dies (killing everybody, including dozens of innocent cops) and passes the assassin-torch. And this movie is in the IMDb top 250??!! The story has as much depth as a Lethal Weapon movie...
And the script... Unrealistic. If you were the cops, and there are a killer AND an INNOCENT LITTLE GIRL in a room of a flat. What do you do? Let's blow up the entire room people! Great idea!! No flashbang, no gas grenade...
I'm sorry for the fans, but try and watch good action movies like Apocalypse Now, Das Experiment, Se7en or the Boondock Saints.
