Snapped (2004)
Should be called killer women!
Every single episode is based around a woman that kills, I'm not sure if that's intentional but it must be with so many seasons and episodes. Overall a decent watch.
The Ripper (2020)
Absolutely baffling
So like a lot of the reviews have already stated, after the first 2 episodes this documentary completely loses it's way.
I remember watching episode 3 and thinking I literally cannot remember the last time they even mentioned the Ripper, cause all they had been talking about for the whole episode was feminist marches and protests and interviewing loads of women about political ridiculousness.
They interviewed one victim who recalled how she was told by police to stay indoors or only go out when accompanied by a man or staying in groups. Seems a pretty reasonable request considering there was a serial killer on the loose literally smashing women over the head with a hammer. Anyway, for some reason she was outraged by the police request and decided to go out anyway! She met up with friends and then thought it would be a great idea to walk home alone at night after a few drinks. She is then attacked by the Yorkshire ripper on the way home, getting smacked on the back of the head with a hammer and was very lucky to live. She then goes on to complain about how the police didn't protect her enough and how she cannot believe more wasn't done to look out for her and other victims! She didn't blame herself for going out and walking home alone when there was a killer on the loose after being told numerous times to stay indoors! It was absolutely moronic!
Further to that another woman complained that when going out drinking men would offer to walk them home to protect them cause men were trying to make women feel vulnerable! What!? So even the men trying to be nice were getting blamed.
Anyway, starts off interesting, ends up being a feminist political mess. Really didn't focus on what mattered enough.
