The story could have been told better
9 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I get that it's a weird story, dystopian future, people trying to find their perfect life partner, and so forth, but it wasn't very well told......

I'm not saying "don't watch it", please do, and make up your own mind. You may see it in a different way to me.

Especially towards the end when it's not clear whether Colin Farrell's character will go through with blinding himself so he'll be like his partner, at least I think that's what he was going to do?....

The cast is stellar and excellent and so is the acting, so not sure where it all went wrong, perhaps screenplay/direction?

In my humble opinion, the story could have been written and told better. You get left with "What just happened there???"

What the FNAF?
19 September 2023
I'm sure they made this film with full intentions to make it as cheesy as it looks...

It's basically FNAF (Five Nights at Freddie's) with Nicholas Cage starring as a mute that is kicking animatronics butts throughout the movie in a 'fun house' that is haunted by demonically possessed animatronic animals.

If you want to enjoy it, watch it with an open mind not to take it too seriously. A bit like when the Foo fighters made Studio 666... Clearly made not to be taken seriously...

However it'll entertain you for one and a half hours if you have nothing else to watch on Netflix or Amazon Video or any other streaming service of your choosing.

Beautiful story with stunning animation
26 October 2022
The story is beautifully written, with great meaning for everyone (child or grown up).

So great to see quite a few references to other wonderful anime films! A must-see for any anime/studio Ghibli fan!

It's beautifully directed and acted. I don't want to give away any spoilers but the ending was quite emotional for me. There is a beautiful lesson, as you would find in any Japanese tale.

Highly recommended viewing. You must watch all four episodes at once, you will not be able to leave the mini series without getting to the end.

Enjoy this beautiful story with stunning animation. I can't wait to see more productions from this studio!

Cult potential
4 June 2022
With a slow start, but very well done. It's a bit like Scott Pilgrim but with 'zombies'. Has every potential to become a Cult series. If you get a bit bored in the first couple of episodes, stick with it. You won't regret it!

Harry Potter meets twilight
26 December 2020
It's well done but it's got all the elements you'd find in twilight with 'magic' added. Not bad, a bit predictable and boring
