Great show, but some of the casting is way off
18 November 2020
I never watched this show when it was current, but during quarantine I binge watched every season, and I love it.

Most of the characters are cast perfectly, but some have really missed the mark. Like the red headed Joker for example. I didn't see that guy perform one second of believable acting. It was so bad that I started fast forwarding through any scene he was in. Whomever cast that guy should never be allowed to work in casting again.

A once great show that has become a redundant mess
17 April 2020
I used to watch this show regularly, but after a few season of the same things over and over it wore on me a little, so I took a long break. Now season 16 has just started, and I thought I would give it another try, and I'm sorry I did. The same old redundant theme... "gotta fill the boat" blah blah blah. This show is truly a one trick pony, and that pony died years ago. Now they just beat the pony out of frustration for having literally no creativity.

Unwatchable Garbage
15 October 2015
This was apparently made in 2007, but has a much much older feel. Pretty much all documentaries from the mid-80's and back have this same lowbrow over dramatic recreations.

It has no proper flow, no credible basis for telling a story that is already written for them, and just generally insulted my intelligence. On several occasions while watching this I asked myself... do they think I'm some moron who's drooling on themselves? This could be used as an example of the worst way to document something on film.

The maker of this, and anyone who likes this style of documentary, must live on a different planet than me, and may be even be a different species of human.

These ladies are a perfect example of how to NOT be funny
26 August 2014
Their comedy and general humour are simply not funny to me, and their quirky alt girl fashion and behavior died out in the 90's for everyone else. There is absolutely nothing about these ladies that interest me. Once again, their quirky alt girl ways died two decades ago for everyone else, but not for them. I hope they get canceled soon. The one good purpose they do serve is to show other female (or even male) comedians how not to do comedy.

If you have an IQ above 70 this "film" will insult your intelligence
3 April 2013
This is one of those films that is nothing but sad and pathetic redundancy. A 100% totally unnecessary film. A pathetic attempt to entertain that in the end treats the viewer like a mindless ape that just wants another banana.

I would imagine that "Manos: The hands of Fate" actually had more original thought put into it.

The ultimate things covered in horrible in this are the hisses and stupid f#@$ing klingon sounding language the vampires use.

The fact that this has a 6.6 average rating shows that most people don't know any better. It deserves about 2-3 tops.

If you like the films you watch to make you feel like it's made for a dumb ape, or you just don't like to think much, you may love this hunk of poop.

Taken (2002)

Very beautifully done and heartfelt series but not without it's faults
10 July 2011
I just finished watching this entire series and wanted to share some thoughts.

The good:

  • Much of the acting seems very natural and heartfelt.

  • Dakota's narration really helps reinforce all the heartfelt acting including her own. Films that have also used narration well in the past really benefit from it. The Shawshank Redemption is a perfect example.

  • I can't escape mentioning again just how heartfelt the acting is. There are many scenes where it doesn't even seem like acting and that it's a real person in that character just telling you how they feel or speaking of their trauma. I truly cherished all those great scenes where every word was spoke in earnest.

  • If you enjoy really connecting emotionally with the characters in what you watch then I highly recommend this series.

The bad:

  • I found some of the non-verbal acting very unnatural. A prime example of this is early in episode 7 when it shows the one character playing drums. She looks so awkward and unnatural that I simply can't even pretend her character really is a drummer. Those types of non- dialogue scenes need to reinforce the character. Not devolve your belief in them.

  • Some of the wigs and makeup is very bad and look extremely fake. I would expect more from something Spielberg was heavily involved with.

  • I found the story was too scattered which weakened everything overall a little.

Canada's Worst Driver (2005–2018)

If you ever feel down on yourself.. just watch this show and feel better.
5 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Decently done show but watching just how inept some people are is scary. In the current season (6) the woman named Dale makes me ask myself many questions: 1. How is she even capable of walking or lifting food to her mouth? 2. How could this woman have ever passed a driving test??? She must have had a blind test person or paid them off. 3. How can she possibly wish that her children would let her drive her grandkids around again? She sees how awful she is at driving yet still wants to drive kids around.

They have not ever said anything on the show about her having a mental disability and with most you cannot get a license to begin with. Unless someone has a mental disability there is absolutely no excuse for any human being to be this incapable.

I am honestly not a bad guy and hope my comments don't make me seem like one but my goodness she is the most inept human being I have ever witnessed in my 43 years of life.
