Good Karma Club (2015)
Crazy about Good Karma
This extremely quirky, face-paced bundle of joy put a delightful, ingenious spin on comedy with its weird, yet crafty, editing. As enticing as always were actors Rachel Alig, Nick Chandler, Eric Henry, and Beau Ballinger. With the addition of the ever so clever edits their comedic scenes where stretched to an hilarious pinnacle.Good Karma Club, able to be seen in its entirety on you tube, should be seen in its entirety on you tube. I got the vibe that this comedy, like Rocky Horror Picture Show, has the ability to sustain interest of a certain audience for many years. Like RHPS,the quirky humor will not be appreciated by all viewers; however, this viewer found Good Karma Club to be outstandingly outrageuos.
Our Father (2014)
Our Father pulls at all emotions
I recently had the privilege of viewing "Our Father" . Michael Gross is brilliant in his role as the fading father who has held a life time of crippling memories. Finally, some deep rooted secrets are revealed to his exasperated son. The son, is desperate and his patience is waning. However, the grandson, a kind-hearted teen, is able to add calm and clarity to the the situation. The film, exquisitely produced and directed by Linda Palmer Cardon, will melt the heart of any viewer. "Our Father" addresses many social issues in a unique plot, leaving one pondering the importance of facing one's demons.
I could give praise to this film many times over, but I will not spoil the pleasure of viewing for others. I am thankful that I had the privilege to view this special spin on life, family, and growing old for it truly touched on many real life complications that sooner or later humankind will face. Thank you for sharing your art and craft with me. Suzy
Officer Down (2013)
Compelling, tragic, and wonderful!
Compelling, tragic, and wonderful! Rachel Alig and Stefan Prater's performances pull at the hearts of viewers allowing them to glimpse into the danger and compassion professional police officers face daily.Also. the performances by Frederick Lawrence as a drunk driver and Laura Rauh as a therapist are noteworthy in that they are convincingly realistic to the ever critical viewer. The very dark movie is lightened-up when Florence Romano, the MILF, appears and brightens the story line with her witty, charming, well-written lines. Rick Bakewell's One Man Productions has great potential for future success in the movie making industry. Rick was inspired to write his script for "Officer Down" after spending time filming the television show "Cops" where he became all too familiar with the daily danger involved in the lives of real-life law enforcement. The premiere, held in Chicago, was a class act. The film, literally, silenced an entire audience with its intense footage and fine performances. For 110 minutes, the captive audience awaited the fates of the four main characters. With many twists and turns, Bakewell draws viewers into the story weaving a tale many will come to love.
