Lost in Vienna, Austria (2013)
One of the best films I have ever seen
This film touched me so deep inside. There is so much passion in every scene. Rarely not much movies show love scenes with such a tenderness and warmth like the scenes between Julie and Scott and they are filmed in such perfect beauty. Wonderful lead actress Julia Prock-Schauer is such a sweetheart and it's really hard to watch how she is being tortured by her boss.
After her death Julie's boyfriend Scott (Wolf Morrison, in his best performance) tries to find someone he could talk about his situation but none of his family, not his parents, who never really understood him and not even his sister Alexandra, who never cared for him, are listening to him.
One day he gets a mysterious package per mail. In this package he finds a videotape and Julie's diary and soon he knows the awful truth about her death. He wants revenge and so he visits Julie's boss Househover (Seth Raven, giving us the perfect portrait of a real evil man). Househover tells him that he was tough on Julie because this world is a tough place and he tried to make her a tough person. But he broke her. Scott leaves his office in anger telling Househover that they both have an unfinished business.
Scott watches him to know his habits. In a surreal and great filmed nightmare scene Scott sees his life and the people he met in his life passing by and then Julie appears to tell him he should help her and set her soul free. Scott awakes, takes his gun and goes to Househover's place.
I don't want to spoil too much here because there are so many great plot twists that Hollywood would have made ten films out of this one here. Only one thing: After Julie's twin sister Karen appears on the scene, you don't know any more if this is fiction or reality, especially when a tape from Scott is shown where a reporter and Scott's best friend Petra talk about his disappearance.
If you only want to watch one film in the cinemas this year than this is the one! One of the best films I have ever seen.
