Michael Clayton (2007)
A wonderful movie reminds us that we are human and that there is limit to what we will do for money or is it?but was it censored.
This movie is trying to keep the human spirit alive. It is showing that people like Micheal Clayton have a limit. There are something that they will stop at. Who else thinks that him getting out to see the horses is his luck changing and saving him as he was on the right side. I see that many people(especially lawyers) will not like. This is like slap on many of their faces, if they have any humanity left they will consider the cases they fight. Also people will allow killings to happen but unless it comes in their faces they will also oppose it. Or will they??? No i don't cause i see many people not liking this movie, they don't see a message, they don't see that it is a very subtle exposure about how corporates are using lawyers to cover their death trail and how ruthless they really are. I feel that this movie was censored by many companies like Monsanto etc by their lobby that watches Hollywood for any mainstream movie like these. I heard the directors commentary on the DVD, I feel it took more than 6 years for him to get this movie done because initially it might have focused more on the actual case. But now the case is just a blur, but if you read between the lines carefully, you realize that the case is about a weed killer(round-up maybe :-P) poisoning waters that were killing people. I think it was edited out till it was acceptable. many people don't realize that this is movie is almost portraying reality. I know many people don't like reality, they feel that it is not going to affect them it affects only other people. And they will condemn scorn and make fun of anything that will remind them of truth. This movie is one such thing.
Ahista Ahista (2006)
When a Half an hour story is stretched to 2+ hours it does get boring
This movie is an exact copy of a TV series on Indian television channel doordarshan Which was aired at least 15 years ago. The series was known as "gubbarre" meaning balloons. Each episode was a new short story. The story is excellent and the original is much sweeter and "convincing" Abhay Doel does a good job but he doesn't fit the role of a "normal" and "third class" guys(as he calls himself in the movie). In fact Shayan Munshi with his hair cut short and without the designer clothes would have fitted the Abhays role but Shayan just doesn't have the talent to pull it off.
I would suggest watching the series if it is available. It is the same story except for the running around with the friends mother and the initial introduction. The acting of the TV actors was much better than these "stars".
The only reason this movies is a flop is because the director tried to stretch half an hour(or 45 minutes) story to 2+ hours. So it has to get draggy. Even the nasal singing sensations songs could not make up.
This movies is good for a lazy Sunday afternoon and is really refreshing if you haven't watched the original TV serial. The script and the ending of the serial was much better
#####SPOILERS AHEAD######### #####SPOILERS AHEAD######### #####SPOILERS AHEAD######### #####SPOILERS AHEAD######### #####SPOILERS AHEAD######### THe ending of the original serial was much stronger as the hero himself dumps the girl even thought she is willing to marry him. HE is aware and tell her that he doesn't want to be "repayed" and never helped with that intention. The director or the script writes somehow could not capture the original ending in this film. The original ending would have bought tears to the girls eyes and would have had the guys nodding in agreement. The deliver just wasn't right.
But personally I feel this is a pathetic copy. No credit should be given to the director/scriptwriter. The story is amazing and is by one of the famous novel writers int he class of PRemchand munshi. I am not sure if this is premchand munshi's story but many of the other short stories int he series feature a few of premchand munshi's and other great Hindi writers stories.
The Other Side of AIDS (2004)
the other comment is not true this movie does not draw a conclusion but makes us ask questions
After seeing this documentary i did my own research and found that there everything in the movie is true. What i mean is all the facts. Till today only the antibody counts is what makes you HIV positive. I had argument and people are just under the illusions that the ELISA test is an antibody count but the western blot test detect the actual virus. THIS IS FALSE. Not test till today has detected the actual virus. DO not listen to what this documentary says but just as a lab technician or search the net for how the ELISA and western blot tests work. Now why i looked at this documentary with an open mind was because i already have knowledge about Siddha system of medicine that have identified the aids thousand of years back it is known as Vettai Noi". AIDS syndrome was already known to the Siddha system of medicine.( FYI i have seen cancer patients who were given 1-3 months to live my doctors being cured by Siddha system of medicine. I still meet two people regularly- a 25 year old man and a 12 year old girl. The Siddha system of medicine put them out of their misery in under a month and the treatment continued for three months. They hale and hearty. The doctors don't know what to say. You know what one of the doctors are saying--"it is the grace of god" aha still he wont admit that Siddha system of medicine cured the guy) The symptoms are the same and the revelations in the movie helps you see that this is the truth. There are actual people who are HIV+ and are not on medication. (http://www.aidsfreetn.com/tnsacs/siddhapage.html) Check this link. ANd then watch the video it will help you believe that there is another side. It is hard for you to believe. It was hard for my friend in fact this movie affected him very much. He is living in fear because he trusted modern research and never expected this. He conducted a much deeper research than me and has actually spoken to many lab technicians and aids researchers in India and even "siddars" He called me recently and is totally psyched. He on the verge of madness as he cannot handle the truth. He just keeps asking me--- "why are these companies or whoever doing this to the entire human race. Aren't they human beings" He has gone to a village and his recollecting himself. I am still waiting for the details of his research. You have to just get the points what you find hard to believe just do a research on the net from non-related sources. Do go to a similar site but just go to a site where they just have information on the testing methods. Then you will see the truth.
