slow moving and slow witted
9 February 2005
I'm sorry to have spent my time waiting for this movie to develop. I did not like the acting at all. The story was no better then watching a B movie horror flick where the teenager goes down into the basement to check on a noise, even after finding two dead friends! I could have wished that I would be surprised but that wish would have been dashed. I didn't like the beginning the middle or the end. The movie could have used some music in the background or something to make the painfully slow scenes move along. You may be wondering why did I keep watching? Well I just thought it would get better but alas, it never did. Sorry I lost that time in my life and I cannot get it back. Don't waste your time. D+

I liked it.

This movie was a little dated, however it moved just fast enough to maintain my interest. It didn't have any surprise ending for me but the suspense built steadily. The climax was less than intense, however it developed well. I would call this movie a good one time event and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be entertained but doesn't need their socks knocked off.

The main character, Ellie Shaw, played by Jennifer Beals is very honest and believable. I don't know why exactly, but she reminded me of Keisha Castle-Hughes as Paikea in "Whale Rider".

The Character Mick Clarkson is well played by James Remar who is a bit of a Patrick Swayze wannabe (Or maybe its vice versa), but that is OK because I think Swayze is intense and I like the intensity of Remars acting. (But to put that into context I like Jim Carrey's overacting) All in all a decent movie.
