Game of Death (2011)
Gold medal if you got half way through this
The makers have done a majestic job in a massive ^%&* up in every department.
Filming with unnecessary double montage shots
Staccato storyline
Wooden acting
Blank scenes with people staring.
Repeated helicopter shots flying over the same location
That bit where he goes off to Africa, let's just not film that as the budget would rocket.
I gave it every chance, I really did, but after 20 minutes I gave in. I just knew I was going to regret it otherwise
Doesn't anyone check these films before release?
As it happened, I started watching Dead Man Down with Colin Farrell, similar theme. Like stepping into a warm shower.
Shot Caller (2017)
Stop mumbling!!
Good enough movie, with a small twist, but the mumbling was so bad I reached for the sub titles.
Shows a gritty side where you can get drawn into American prison life (no wonder all hope is lost) with no way out.
The Guilty (2021)
A short film but still too long
Great plot with some twists but
- how is any officer allowed to take that responsibility
- Saying, ad nauseum, "Emily, Emily, Emily, Emily" was grinding.
- a 90 minute film that should be a third of that.
The Missing (2003)
Yet again, another far too long film
Good cast and interesting parts of the film ( baddie was intriguing), but after1/2 way, I was wondering how the film was going to keep me entertained for the other 75 minutes :it didnt.
Why do directors think the more they show, the better the film? Or, more likely, how wonderful they'll look.
Disappointing
