Pretend It's a City (2021)
Too self-absorbed rip off of other things you've heard elsewhere
Said something about not being an artist because it was too pleasurable? Excuse me, but being an artist is anything but that, of course given the context, it is apparent that she could never know. Mildly entertaining rambling that becomes old after a while Was impressed by the level of ignorance on some things. .Also, what's up with the title credits ripping off a the all famous Woody Allen black background with white fonts? Is it to try and make me think I'm watching a worthwhile thing about NY as Allen's films do?
Sherlock: The Final Problem (2017)
Very Intense
The bad reviews really surprised me, but what really surprised me, was the episode in general. I started watching it with the idea that Moffat and Gatiss would probably use a mix from the past to make this episode "decent-ish", but predictable. I really thought there was nothing that could catch me off my guard, but I ended up being completely hooked with all the plot. I can't remember the last time a movie or TV show made me feel that tense or filled with emotion as this episode did. Sure, it has its flaws, but I think it all is very well weaved together for a story worth telling. I really liked the ending, I liked they used a very uncommon one that fitted the story. As for character development, my applause goes to Moffat and Gatiss for creating a realistic Sherlock Holmes, that has all of its roots on Sir A.Conan Doyle's stories, but still advances as a normal human being does, with its environment. It still maintains its clever and witty personality, with a bit of humour, despite it being really dark. Acting, as is expected, is sharper than ever, hoping it gets a Golden Globe nomination next year for that area. A must watch.
Sherlock: The Lying Detective (2017)
Clever! Absolutely Unpredictable
Brilliantly executed, well written, astonishingly well acted. Cumberbatch's acting was on point, as always, but was given a little bit more opportunity to display it. Toby Jones was as chilling as a Villain could be, leaves Magnussen jealous. A very good addition to the Sherlock Holmes list of villains. It is really quite dark, and at times makes you very uncomfortable, as promised. It left me quite puzzled. Comedic relief was also great, light headed, ironic humour as always. Brilliant lines for all the characters. Really loved the mind palace scenes. Overall clever. I can't complain. I'd say it is up there amongst the top three Sherlock episodes. I really hope the third one isn't a disappointment after this great episode, they've really set the bar high.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)
MUCH BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE! It exceeded my expectations!!
It is still a bit far from the LOTR movies but not too much . The Smaug CGI is the best I've ever seen (so far) but yet other CGI at the beginning was a bit bad for WETA to have made it. It may not be 100 percent close to the book but I think Peter Jackson managed to adapt it well to the screen. I liked Tauriel even though she is'nt in the books. Legolas' appearance was a little bit forced I think the movie could have gone well without him. Martin Freeman was practically born to play Bilbo, Ian Holm was alright but Martin Freeman IS Bilbo! Benedict Cumberbatch's voice is great for Smaug, everything about Smaug was great,It's just how you would imagine Smaug to be.I gotta say I was expecting much less, and it exceeded greatly my expectations.
Leap Year (2010)
Don't expect much, good anyway
With this movie I can prove that there is no comedy-romance movie like Kate and Leopold. Starts with a very interesting plot, then it fades away with a cheesy ending. Amy Adams is great in this movie. A light movie to watch if you're bored, with a predictable storyline, you'll have a good time. A good PG romance movie (something hard to find because most are PG-13)
SPOILER BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kind of didn't buy the whole 2 day romance. I mean, she practically didn't know the guy that well to marry him. No one marries someone that you have known for 2 days. The guy is even kind of creepy sometimes. Could have been a great movie.
