The reviews are marked by confusion in regards to real story

I see here some very offended people among the reviewers who claim that the real story was ignored due to some adversity against the "non-american" inventor Nikola Tesla, who actually invented the AC. They seem to be confused by the fact that the movie doesn't depict the invention of the AC but rather the so call "current war" that took place between two american companies that tried to impose their own vision and business model of how the current should be delivered to the consumer, as DC or as AC. And the two companies involved in this had indeed nothing to do with Nikola Tesla. It is pity that people can't get beyond their obviously biased feelings when it comes to matters of nationality and rather let themselves slip into the the quicksand territory of the conspiracy theories. So, the movie doesn't do injustice at all to anyone it just tells the story as it is supposed to. Go see for yourselves.

Take Shelter (2011)

I don't get the praise

This movie was a boring one, despite the fact that it was well done. The action moves at a snail pace and it involves very bland characters, and if it wasn't for the deaf daughter would have been even worse. The movie is not saved despite its decent acting, very good cinematography and a good dose of realism. As an art flick it may have pleased some but personally I found it extremely unsatisfying and I only watched it to the end because I was curios how will happen, which in one word would be: disappointing. It made me strongly feel that I wasted 2 hours of my time. I would admit, though, that I don't seek for art in a movie, I seek entertainment, excitement, an original idea, some remarkable achievements. Nothing of such and when it comes to the idea, to me it seemed and redoux and modern version of Noah story. I was fooled into watching by the praise ad overrating of this movie.

Ender's Game (2013)

Trailer is the essence

If you saw only the trailer is more than enough. The rest of the story is just a filler done with military training clichés which don't fit at all when the subjects are children, even if teenagers. It just didn't feel right for me and I wasn't convinced at all. The supposedly smart moments and training scenes to justify Enders so called super qualities to make him "the one" are average at most if not trivial. The only aspect where this movie shines are the CGI special effects, which you can see in... the trailer.

I am a SF and special effects fan but I will give this one just an average overall with a 6/10.

Bridge to Terabithia (2007)

Deceived By The Commercial Trailer; not for younger kids

I took my 6 year old daughter to watch this movie in the theater. It was her first time. I have never heard of the book before so for me was a totally new story I knew nothing about but what the movie trailer was showing. According to it I expected to see something about a fantasy world with fantastic creatures and adventures somewhat similar to Chronicles Of Narnia. I was disappointed to see that all those wonderful images shown in the trailer were pretty much all there was in the movie itself as well. That is about 5 to 10 minutes from a total of 1.5 hours of movie.

On top of that the girl's death took me totally by surprise and I found myself in the situation where instead a nice fantastic story for a 6 year old girl to be faced with a very real and tragic life story.

Don't get me wrong, the movie was very well done and it is a very good one but in my opinion not for kids younger than 10 years old. Fortunately my daughter took the moment very well and when I asked her if she liked it she told me yes but a yes that was also hiding a little disappointment.

I think that every parent should be warned about this movie.
