Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A Terrible Ending of an Enduring Saga
What a terrible ending..some of the dialoge seems corny..There are scenes that seems confused to me..especially the interaction between Rey and Kylo Ren..
I have watched Star Wars since 1977.I only love the original trilogy. It was simple,exciting,fun,sad..You got a feeling of satisfaction after you exit the theatre during those days..
The Good Cop (2018)
Cancelled!
I was about to like the show....and they cancelled it...
Murphy Brown: Fake News (2018)
Dissapointing
It is not that funny anymore..no more rapid fire funny lines...Probably,because the cast and characters are old...no more energy..sometimes it looks a little bit awkward...
Pendekar Bujang Lapok (1959)
Another Classic!
This is one of the best movies in the Bujang Lapok series. I never get tired of watching this movie.Even my children who were borne after P. Ramlee's death loved all his comedies. I love the scenes that involved the late Mustarjo and Ahmad Nesfu. Ahmad Nesfu was truly a talented actor. This was also the movie that introduced the late actress Roseyatimah to the silver screen.I love also the songs like "Maafkan Kami", "Bujang Idaman(aka "Malam Bulan Dipagar Bintang") and "Pok Pok Bujang Lapok".The scenes at the graveyard, the school for the elderly was hilarious.I hope somebody will preserve this movie on a DVD so that new generation of fans will enjoy them.
Antara Dua Darjat (1960)
Another P. Ramlee Classic
I love this movie because I think this is the first Malay movie that used flashback to tell a story and P. Ramlee have done an excellent job. The mood of the movie is good. This a tragedy comedy with a happy ending. The songs are good especially the evergreen "Getaran Jiwa". S. Shmasuddin gave a good performance as a good friend to the P. Ramlee character. And Ahmad Nesfu as always was excellent and have proved that he was a very versatile actor tackling both comedic and serious roles( a comedian in Madu Tiga, Tiga Abdul, Pendekar Bujang Lapok and a serious actor in this movie). I hope this movie will have a DVD version where interviews with surviving cast like Saadiah,S. Shamsuddin and photo galleries could be included.
Ibu mertuaku (1962)
A tragedy Comedy at Its Best
This is another gem from the great director. A serious drama that a have a sprinkle of comedic relief provided by P.Ramlee and his gang( the phone scene between P. Ramlee, Sarimah and Mak Dara). Mak Dara was excellent as the evil and heartless mother-in-law to the P. Ramlee character. P.Ramlee deserved the award that he received for this movie (The Most Versatile Talent) at the Asian Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan. This is one of the rarest movie by P. Ramlee that did not have a happy ending, although the ending scene was like a Hindi movie, I might say, with thunder claps and wind blowing from nowhere!. But I enjoyed it very much.
Nasib Si Labu Labi (1963)
A Good Movie
This is the sequel to Labu Labi. I loved the movie because of the antics of the late actors Udo Umar and M. Zain and the songs, especially, "Aci-Aci Buka Pintu". It was nice of P. Ramlee to include cameo appearances of actors like Rosnani, Sarimah, Ahmad Mahmud and Omar Rojik as the judges during the fashion parade scene. However the ending was quite tedious with a very long dream scene, but overall it was a good movie. I've enjoyed the movie and I hope somebody(those that hold the rights to the movie) could come up with the DVD version of the movie in the near future or maybe together with "Labu Labi" in a box set!. However, I've recorded the movie on DVD for my own personal collection when it was shown on local TV.
Seniman Bujang Lapok (1961)
An Enjoyable classic
This is quite a funny movie. As usual P. Ramlee, Aziz Sattar and S. Shamsuddin provide the laughs especially the scene involving Aziz Sattar, S. Shamsuddin and the motorcycle! The appearance by the late M.Zain and Zainon Fiji as the squabbling Indian couple was also a gem. The songs are also good with P. Ramlee and Saloma singing them.Although most of the ending of P. Ramlee comedies are almost the same(this movie and Pendekar Bujang Lapok)but I enjoyed them . I hope there will be a DVD version ( a box set will be good) of the movie together with the other Bujang Lapok movies. Interviews with the surviving cast like Aziz Sattar, S. Shamsuddin, Kuswadinata, Ahmad Mahmud and Hasimah Yon would be great and could be included in the DVD.
Madu Tiga (1964)
Timeless classic
I love this movie. I've watched this movie countless times and never get bored. The entire cast is excellent, especially the late Ahmad Nesfu (the father-in-law) who was hilarious!. The songs are evergreen as ever. I remember watching this movie on TV in the 70's. I've also recorded this movie on DVD for my personal collection. I hope whoever have the rights to this movie could make a DVD version of it with interviews with the surviving cast like Sarimah. She can relate her experiences working with the cast during the making of the movie.Preserving this movie on DVD will make the movie long lasting and could be enjoyed by new generation of fans.
