Stop Glorying Killers
14 August 2022
The movie would be great if it wasn't fiction that tries to humanize what Kaczynski did. In fact, the only thing it achieved is supporting Ted's crazy views about the negative effects of technology by creating misinformation for the purpose of entertainment. It completely leaves out how twisted his messages to his brother were and even misplaces the credit for the person who solved the case. I can't believe the Discovery channel produced this.

Look out John Wick!
13 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is action packed from beginning to end. I thought the story was pretty original, even if the anti-hero redemption plot wasn't. The entire cast did a good job with their roles, but this is not a film that you watch to see an incredible acting job. I think the camera work was well done. The only thing that this is lacking is a visual style that makes you identify this film vs other action movies. Personally I like this better than the John Wick sequel. It's a movie I would watch a second time with a friend who has never seen it just to see their reaction to how much of a sleeper hit this is. As for the negative reviews, ignore them because even with the most critical takes on this the film is nothing less than a 7.

Underrated Gem of a Film
10 August 2017
This movie is a must watch, plain and simple. Unless you're the type that can only enjoy a movie that doesn't challenge your thinking. If anyone tells you otherwise they simple didn't get it, or lack the ability to analyze and appreciate the film. This may only be the third of fourth review I've written, but I felt that people should hear some praise about this movie because it really was a surprisingly good.

Shia Labeouf does a superb job. This is not an Emmy type performance, but it still nothing short of excellent. I feel that the reception this and lack of press this received is all about Hollywood politics, and peoples' perception of Labeouf. If you want to see a fresh story then I strongly urge you to check this out.

Not really 'Ninja' but Still Nice
20 December 2013
First the good. There's plenty of action in the film and the fight scenes are pretty well choreographed. Not on par with anything from let's say "Drunken Master, or Once Upon a Time In China", but still much better a similar movie 'American Ninja'. The story is believable and I wasn't bothered by any potholes. I saw another person post something about the main character being white as absurd. Well this is fictional movie so...

Now the bad. My main issue with the movie is that I was expecting something more Ninja-esque. The title still makes sense once the movie is finished, but 15% of the film gives us a true ninja feeling, and the rest is more of a vigilante film.

Verdict. A good movie if you love martial art films. If you expect something similar to a recent big budget film like 'Ninja Assassins' this is a far cry from that, but check it out for yourself.

A B-Boy Classic
13 December 2013
I honestly don't understand all what movie people were watching that gave this such low reviews. I saw the previews and said I wasn't even going to bother watching. My daughter (9) however is really into dancing and for movie night I picked this. The movie stars off poorly with music that doesn't really fit, but about 25mins in I started to enjoy it. Now that sounds worst than it really is because it's not that nothing is happening for 25mins, but I just expected more battle scenes in the beginning. Anyhow I don't want to spoil the movie. If you are a fan of breaking in anyway you WILL enjoy this movie. If you're looking for a cinematic experience well please go watch something that aims to captivate you with the filming process. This is a B-Boy movie and delivers moves that many people have never seen, and for that it at least deserves credit for bringing something new to the dance movie genre.
