Ugramm (2014)

A very good effort from the new comers in Kannada film industry

There are movies which regularly in Kannada film industry, which fail to attract or impress people even with their actual content. But then there are movies like these, which impress the audience right from the trailers. This movie is not just one man's show, though the lead actor Srimurali shines and carries the film on his broad shoulders through out the movie, it is the director, music composer, stunt director and cinematographer who contributes equally to the outstanding movie.

The display of heroism is classy, and there are scenes which are just great and carries the momentum to the next scene. Plot is very simple and may sound like usual action entertainer. It is must watch for all the action movie lovers irrespective of the language they know. there are certain superb dialogues, which are good to be heard in kannada if not translated.

In the kannada film industry very rarely this kind of new efforts occur successfully. Overall february seems to be lucky for kannada film industry for new efforts, last year (2013) it was simplag ond love story

Thou Gild'st the Even (2013)

Brilliant Fantasy movie...!!!

Watched the movie in BIFFES 2013 (bangalore international film festival). The sheer brilliance of this fantasy movie can be credited to director, cinematographer and music director. The black and white medium of this fantasy movie adds more to its glory. This movie is not everybody's cup of tea, I Saw people walking out in middle or abruptly during screening. Mreyte ya mreyte (caramel) by Racha Rizk is mesmerizing and adds significantly to the viewing pleasure. The synopsis is given, so i wont go in detail about the story. The climax scene is wonderfully crafted and the performance by almost all the actors are excellent. Some scenes may seem violent, thats the only thing hard to over come. Watch it if you get a chance and you love fantasy movies, where a world has two moons and two suns with superhero kind of characters, yet lead a very ordinary life.

The Amazing Catfish (2013)

Simple yet Beautiful..!

Watched this film in BIFFES (2013)Bangalore International Film Festival and it was very much worth it. The leading lady looks really beautiful and has given very good performance in this movie. The movie revolves around Claudia and how she becomes a part of a family whom she doesn't even relate to(by blood).

Its an ordinary story of a family and a woman with stellar performances and direction. The music compliments the movie and offers good viewing experience.

The synopsis has already been given, so i wont dig into the story part. An average poor or middle class family with different types of Characters and the way Claudia handles situations. Circumstances and situations make it like Claudia needs them and they needs Claudia. Very good direction and good performances to look out for.

Bekas (2012)

Awesome child comedy Movie with serious background.

The movie has created quite a buzz in Bangalore International Film Festival BIFFES 2013. Before watching, I had read the synopsis and felt this one is going to really start boring me at least some part of the movie. But seriously, i never felt bored even a moment through out the movie. Excellent direction with great choice of Camera angles and shot selection.

The shot above the lake till it shows the brothers on Long ears with celebrations is outstanding. The music or background score compliments the movie from start till the end. The performances by the two little boys are outstanding and the little one made me speechless.

Edge of the seat scenes and holding your attention till the end from the start is outstanding. Director Kader strikes the right chords with his direction and the length of the movie. The climax seems just right and very well shot.
