Well acted but suspiciously predictable
8 October 2017
No need for details. I got as far as episode 2 when it began to be predictable. It's well acted and directed and no doubt well researched but I so want this not to go down the obvious path and yet ... let's just hope this has something distinctive about it in the remaining 4 episodes.

Brave, different but one series will be enough
5 October 2017
As others have commented, the constant winding back of time is confusing and takes some getting used to. I had to watch episodes 1 and 2 a second time in order to be sure I was making sense of it. However, having done so, it has become compelling to watch. It's an interesting and brave attempt to try a different take on the stock gritty police procedural murder mystery. As a one off, OK, it's worth sticking it out, if only to see how it can all be resolved without jumping forwards again, but I'm not sure I would bother if there were a second series. I, too, seem to think there's a disappointingly obvious twist coming and I'm only at ep 3, still there's time to be proved wrong, or else perhaps wind back the clock further and change the plot :-)

Fabulous but keep the hankies ready
19 July 2017
After the acclaimed Accused I have waited for this series to finish airing before watching as a whole. Glad I did as I have no idea how I could have waited for a whole week between episodes. Wonderful acting, brilliantly observed characters and, as hoped, superbly scripted and directed. I'm no catholic but that's irrelevant; the succession of life's tough moral dilemmas faced by very real people confronting the priest cannot help but drag your emotions through the wringer. Drama at its very best, deserves to win many awards.
