Odd film
2 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is movie is pretty strange, but strange in a way that it seems as if no one has hardly even heard of this movie. I happen to catch this movie on the Movieplex video OnDemand, I was bored and there was virtually nothing to watch on TV as usual. I thought the plot looked though dated (because of the VHS tapes) looked actually interesting, I really thought it was like The Ring (2002) well the plots are only similar because of a horror filled video tape.

Plot: The plot was a plot that has been used over and over again. Small time Kansas country boy escapes the small time farm, in hopes to become the next big writer. He escapes to the big city (at first I thought it was LA, but was shocked to learn that it was filmed in Denver) they make Denver look more sleazier than New York in the 70s. He is like most protagonists very naive and he immediately tries to find work, but since he is lacking a degree he gets nowhere. He befriends a tough girl at a local VHS store and a Joe Pesci wannabe con artist.

The Horror: SO remember the Joe Pesci wanna be con artist, well some how in a heroic act the Kansas boy manages to save Joe Pesci guy from a group of people guys in trench coats. As a way of thanking him, Joe Pesci guy gives him a seemingly stolen VHS player, from his closet stash. And one night he plays the VHS and that's when the horror begins.

The movie itself is not scary, but what makes it odd is the bad acting the main actor never played in anything else. The director died at an early age in fact 3 years after this movie, it seems as if no one has even heard of this film. Its very low budget. The main actor eyes are extremely creepy, and I just wonder what happened to the actors in this film?

Virgin=death
5 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was very interesting. And though I am a sucker for Who dun-nit types of movies, this movie still kept me on edge. Starring the late great Brittany Murphy and Jason Mohr,it changed the whole idea of sex=death, that is seen in almost every slasher film. In fact the virgins are the ones being slashed off. This movie also has some funny parts ********SPOILER ALERT******* What I really loved about this movie is that everything ties up at the end Such when Brittany Murphy is chatting with her teacher (Jason Mohr) she claims she saw someone standing in the door. They race out to see who it is and they eventually land in the cafeteria and only the viewers of the movie see a boot with a weird logo like four little squares to make one square. Later in the movie she goes to her boyfriends house and she takes off his boots ( which are the exact same boots in the cafeteria). Which at the time gives viewers a chance to ponder whether her boyfriend is the killer. The killer we find out is the beloved teacher (Jason Mohr), who is the son of a student who was raped 27 years ago by a drunken incoherent boy who is now the father of Brittany Murphy's character. I know pretty heavy stuff. But after Brittany finds out about her father bad deeds she goes to Jason Mohr's home (how did she know where her teacher lived was that a normal thing)and she see him struggling trying to carry this big treasure chest type of thing and when he slides it down the stairs, which sort of scares Brittany Murphy, She asks what inside the box and he said "Your father, My Father" at the time we don't time we didn't get why he said that, but now that the movie is over I was able to realize how those things added up.

I still have questions about this movie... 1. Did the boyfriend make it? we see him slashed through his shirt blood visible but he is able to crawl out to the balcony to see whats going on.

2. They never really gave an explanation during th questioning by the FBI as to why they lied, I assume that it was to protect her father's image as well as the daughter.
