Donato and Daughter (1993 TV Movie)

Great
20 February 2019
I think this is just a TV movie (for cable) but it has very good quality. The cast is great with Charles Bronson in a very good dramatic role that actually has some real feeling to it, not just the tough guy shooting spree type movie he's more famous for, though this movie has that too. It's a good story with good acting, well worth watching.

Terrible Movie Experience
10 August 2018
This was a terrible movie experience. It's frustrating, poorly done and awkward. It just looks so totally cheap through the whole movie and is a complete and total ripoff of Twilight.

Hochie-Mochie
10 August 2018
As The Critic would say "Hochie-Mochie!" Words can not express how awful this movie is and it's all due to one man.... which kind of makes sense since he is in the credits like 114 times for doing every single job himself. Frank D'Angelo you are spectacular in every way you don't want to be! This movie is hilariously bad, thank you for making this.

Not Bad
9 August 2018
This isn't a bad show. It is pretty regional and people who have not lived or spent serious time in Quebec may not get a lot of it, but there's some really funny satire in it and the main character is very good for the role. It wouldn't date well and probably isn't as funny now but at the time it was quite good.

Very Bad, Sadly!
9 August 2018
This show just fails at what it should be doing. The idea of the show is a good one but they technically speaking can't pull it off right. It just seems cheap and like everything is happening in an unprepared way, like nobody is really sure what they are or should be doing. Add to that some tragically unfunny talent on the show (whoever cast this thing needs to not ever cast a show again)... and you've got a very, very bad show. It is occasionally funny but not in the intended way if you catch my meaning. They should retool and try again maybe.

A Very Bad Late Night Talk Show
9 August 2018
Oh man was this show ever bad. Every moment of it was unintentional cringe causing awkwardness.

First the host Mike Bullard was the worst possible choice for a late night talk show host. Instead of friendly he was bitter and insulting. His monologues at the beginning of the show weren't very funny and he'd blame and turn on the audience. Whenever he would 'riff' with audience members he would do insulting jokes along the lines of 'oh you're from (insert city name), I drove through there one night it felt like three weeks, what a dump!'... and he would continue whether or not his joke's victim was on board, or the audience as a whole for that matter.

Second is the audience. I'm not exaggerating when I say it always seemed kind of tense and the people there usually looked confused or like they wanted to escape or something. The ones who did laugh had the same look, as if they were just doing it to be polite or out of fear Bullard would insult them with some jokes next. Did the audience have huge bodyguards glaring at them from underneath the 'LAUGH AND APPLAUSE!' signs?

Third, Bullard was terrible but his material was the worst anyway. It seemed like his eyes were always closed and he just came off as creepy, angry and bitter a lot of times. The daddy-est of dad jokes and terrible segments and jokes and skits... say what you want about Bullard and he really was a bad host but NO ONE could have made any of the stuff he read funny anyway.

Fourth, 99% of the guests were no names or people who's career was already over. So many times he would have to explain who the guest was because nobody in his audience or watching on TV would recognize them. If we did recognize their face at all it was usually 'uhhh... isn't he that guy from that... what was that show?'

Every aspect of the show was awkward and unfunny.

EDIT... Remember how I said Bullard was unfunny, serious and bitter and creepy? Well he has now been charged with stalking a woman and making threats and allegedly has done this many times, and also broke his court ordered restraining order or something. Sweet potato and this is a comedy talk show host? That says about all you need to know about how awkward and bad this show was.

I really wish someone would post the entire series online so we could see it again, some of it actually achieved that 'so awkward it's funny' thing that nobody could do intentionally, it just has to happen you know?

horrible!
9 August 2018
This show was so bad I can't believe it even qualifies to be called a 'TV Show'... all it was was a couple guys who were not even remotely funny, walking around on the street and bothering people with questions and stupid little skits and pranks, and doing monologues that were even less funny than that. I'm not sure which guy was less funny because they were both so bad. It looked amateur, the video was often fuzzy, the editing was really bad, the sound quality was also bad. This was just a very bad show any way you look at it.

Fun Kids Show
9 August 2018
This was a fun kids show. Lots of silly little skits the kids can enjoy and a likable cast. Good harmless fun. Pretty stupid for us adults but we are not the audience for this show, it was for kids and they liked it a lot!

I Love These Guys!
9 August 2018
I love this show and I love these guys! I mean what is not to love? It is a nice, sweet, funny workplace comedy about subject matter that most proud geeks love. It's well written and performed, and I love the tiny... plastic... men!

Unfortunate Subject Matter
9 August 2018
This is a really unfortunate show and especially the subject matter. Rob Ford had a lot of problems obviously but he was still a person and had a family and when a man with demons dies while still somewhat young and troubled and leaves his family behind it is in pretty bad taste to drag him back into the limelight and make fun of him and his troubles again like this. I could forgive it if it was more tastefully handled or at the very least if it was funny, but this is just an exercise in tasteless lowest common denominator jokes that seems like it was slapped together just to make fun of this guy. And no I'm not saying this because I love Rob Ford or something, I think he and his brother are both crooked and dishonest and did not belong in politics. I think it was a huge mistake for people to elect either of them. I think he brought disgrace to himself and this city but I think he paid for it enough in the public light and his family definitely paid enough too. I'm also not a prude or whatever, I'll laugh at very dark comedy and dirty comedy as long as it is funny, when it's not funny (like Filth City) it's just insulting to me because they're doing this for no reason.

Comedy... With Fries??
9 August 2018
I love this show because it has comedy but also fries! The acting is good and also comes with fries! The direction is superb, with fries! The writing is top notch and all the scripts come with a nice heaping pile of steaming hot fresh fries! I bet every day on set they were given fries for lunch! Or if lunch was something else it always came... with fries!!!

Uhhh...
9 August 2018
This isn't particularly interesting or funny but it's not a bad story either. I found it would get boring unless I watched it in small doses instead of trying to go through all of it at once the way I binge watch most things, especially shorter content like this. It's not bad at all, worth checking out if you're open to a nice simple little story, just don't expect huge laughs it's pretty understated. (:

Love This!

I loved this show. It's one of the few shows for kids or family viewing out there that is not incredibly annoying and stupid. Not the best writing or acting but who cares, this isn't Tarantino it's a kids show.

Average Animated Series
8 August 2018
This is an average animated comedy series (meant for adult audiences, not a cartoon for kids). The voice work is fun and the animation is fine. The writing is not the best with some thin stories and bad jokes, you can pretty much tell everything that's going to happen or be said before it is. A decent show to just put on in the background if you're working on your laptop or something. Not bad.

An All Time Comedy Classic!
8 August 2018
This show was very controversial when it first came out but it was also daring and hilarious. Roseanne got all kinds of attention and praise and awards for being more down to earth and real and showing a non-Beaver Cleaver type of family but this show did it first and just as well. Ed O'Neill was amazing and perfectly cast. Peggy and Christina Applegate and Marcy D'Arcy were awesome too. I just bought the complete DVD box set and re-watched the whole thing and the show actually holds up today. There are some in jokes that I didn't really get but looked up the references online and they're still funny but for the most part it's just a hilarious show.

Below Average
8 August 2018
This is a below average animated comedy show (for adult audiences not kids). I did not enjoy it very much but didn't hate it either. The kind of thing I could put on in the background while I caught up on some of my work after I came home from the office. It's not particularly smart or funny and the characters are kinda blah but it is harmless overall and I've seen a lot worse.

The Worst - Writing, Directing, Production, Acting and WORST Casting Agent Ever!
8 August 2018
This show is currently the worst show on Canadian TV in my opinion. The writing is sub-sub-sub-par with some of the worst comedy scripts I've ever seen performed on television. The jokes are so bad even my parents groan at them. The entire show stinks and the flimsy premise wears thin after the first minute of the first episode. The show is also just poorly produced and looks amateurish and cheap. Frankly it looks like it doesn't belong on TV.

Worst of all though are the annoying characters and the awful performances by the worst possible cast. Unless only two people showed up at the auditions they must have deliberately chosen the worst possible ones? Whoever cast this show and approved of that cast needs to never work in TV again. They're really so surprisingly bad I actually looked up the casting credits here on IMDb which is something I've never even thought about doing before, and the woman credited for casting this show has a resume full of duds. I'm looking at you Marjorie Lecker. Check various other people working on this show and their resumes are full of duds too. How do people so bad at their jobs keep getting more work in this industry?

I mean if I was really bad at filing and data entry I would be fired from my job, so when your shows are critically panned and poorly rated and canceled and hated by movie and TV fans here on IMDb HOW do you keep getting more jobs? This is a serious question. Is it because Canadian content rules mean the government has to keep sending tax money to these people to make Canadian TV shows? Is it because the industry in Canada is a clique where terrible, untalented people just hire each other because they're friends and don't care about the quality of the shows they make? I would really like to know because it may answer the far bigger question of WHY are so many Canadian shows bad... it really is like these people don't care about the stuff they make being good, and also like they don't HAVE to care.

The system needs to be fixed and awful shows like this prove it. In the states if someone makes a show anywhere near this bad they stop airing it and the people who made it don't keep getting work automatically.

Good Idea for a Show, Failed in Execution
8 August 2018
The premise for this show and the tone of the show they were going for was very interesting and actually could have been a good show. But they executed it so poorly that it's hard to watch. First of all whoever cast this show is a moron because all of the characters are miscast or done poorly and many of the actors are total garbage or rank amateurs. Second the scripts are poorly written as well. Third the direction is all over the place and the show never found its feet. It's like nobody knew what they were supposed to be doing for this show and absolutely everyone dropped the ball, ruining what could have been a good and unique darkly comical series.

Grace Under Fire (1993–1998)
9/10
Underrated
9 January 2018
I think that Grace Under Fire was an underrated gem of a situational comedy series. Maybe it is because it was always pretty much overshadowed by the much more successful (and just as good) series Roseanne, which also featured a lower middle class struggling/working mom in middle America played by a quality standup comedienne. Roseanne Barr/Arnold's show actually probably was better but it got all the accolades and Grace Under Fire got none. I guess it's kind of like playing in the NBA when Michael Jordan's Bulls were dominating the sport. Brett Butler was great though, the story lines were realistic and meaningful, the jokes were very funny, the supporting cast was great. It's too bad the show completely fell apart in the end, I guess due to some personal problems of its star, because it was a great sitcom.

Best Comedies Of All Time
10 January 2014
Ghost Busters (or Ghostbusters I can honestly never really tell which one of those spellings is actually supposed to be the correct or preferred one) is one of the best comedy movies of all time. This is the kind of movie that made Bill Murray famous and vice versa as he was made to play this role. He is so smarmy and hilarious in this movie almost everything he says makes me laugh out loud even today and I have seen this movie I'm not kidding probably at least 20 times now. My friends and I watch it and we can say most of the lines along with the characters. This is an all time classic movie and I hope they do a third one and that it does not suck!

Ice Cream Man (1995)

Highlarious
10 January 2014
I'm not sure how much of it is intentional but whether or not it is intentional this movie is hilarious! If you like funny horror movies like Troll or Ghoulies or Critters or you just like funny movies in general with weird characters check out this movie. Ice Cream Man stars Clint Howard who is best known as being in a lot of his brother Ron Howard's movies (NASA technician in Apollo 13 for example). I have always liked this guy, he is very entertaining but he can pull off creepy while still being funny and even a little bit sympathetic. In this movie he plays an insane murderous ice cream man and it is the only time I have known him to be the lead character in a movie. It's funny and I recommend it highly.
