Disappointing
9 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie received a lot of buzz, why I do not know. It received a rating of 6 only due to the acting, Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf acted well in spite of a monotonous script. There is nothing else in this tedious movie worth mentioning. A high school girl that dreams of leaving her small town to move to a more cultured, open and artistically expressive town (or as she thinks it maybe). She does everything she can to get accepted at University in New York, cheating her grades, placing her family in further and further financial debt just so that she can get a step in the East Coast. She's expressive but we don't know if she has any talent, we are not shown that she has any talent. The movie was highly clichéd, the cinematography was disappointing, there's scenes with a somewhat appealing background and jazz melodies........The music and wardrobe were not 2002, in fact they could have used any other year as a setting

What a sequel!
26 March 2020
Whenever you are about to watch a sequel there is also that bit of worry that it might disappoint in respect to its predecessor, leaving a blemish on the franchise or you like to remove the sequel from all memory. But this is not the case with Trainspotting 2, Danny Boyle did a brilliant job! You are there 20 years later but you never let, but you kind of did leave.......It brings you up to date on where everyone is now and what led to it, the characters have matured but still retain character traits and personality. The narration is engrossing, the acting is excellent (Johnny Lee Miller you are brilliant!), music solid. I have not read the books (as yet) but from a film point of view its excellent.

Visual delight

This movie is beautifully shot, the play of colours, lighting, angles and setting is an absolute treat for the eyes. Eisenberg and Stewart have good chemistry, something that is not easily found in current movies. This is the most beautiful Stewart has looked in a movie, it feels as if you are effortlessly transported to the 1930's. Good acting by Eisenberg, Stewart and Carell.

Its Will Ferrell and John C Riley
24 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Its a spoof. Why are people surprised? It is a movie based on well known characters, not characters created for the movie, yet it is their take on the characters. I enjoyed Will Ferrell in his English accent, you get to see a different side of him, of John C Riley too. It is a dramatic portrayal (if I may say) that is viewed as humorous, there's times when you know they are talking off script, just letting it flow naturally and that's the magic they have. The English references like the Titanic (with Bill Zane) was also enjoyable. The only critique I have is, why were the actresses noticeable younger than the lead actors?

Do no bother
24 February 2019
If you did not enjoy Pitch Perfect 2, do not even bother with part 3. The storyline is very weak, the music was not enjoyable, I could not wait for the movie to be over, really there was no need for this part 3.

Flawless

Surprised that this movie did not get a higher rating, what else more could you ask for? I thought all aspects were perfected. It was a good incorporation of mythology and the story (story line), visually beautiful and great acting. I really enjoyed the fighting scenes, it had a nice flow to it, rather than other movies that film the action scenes so fast that is gets hards to visually keep up with whats happening. It seems like a lot of thought went into to filming this and its not a rushed job, which is what great movies should be about. I cannot think of another actor that could have been better for this role than Keanu Reeves, either the role was written with him in mind or he was meant to play this role. I don't think he gets enough credit as an actor, he was 100% on point in this role, the physical, the emotional, the respect and truly understanding his character.

One of the best movies ever made.

Not worth it

Warning: Spoilers
***This review may contain spoilers***

Disappointing sequel, I gave it 6 out of 10 for the actors that made an effort. The story line was poor, the jokes were not funny and its seemed more like the "Fat Amy" show than Beca's perspective. I thought Anna Kendrick and Skylar Astin had great chemistry in the prequel Pitch Perfect and here we did not get to see it again, their relationship seemed some what cold. There is less of Anna Kendrick and a lot less of Skylar Astin, which is disappointing, he's a great singer, dancer and actor. Even though all the characters returned, I would prefer to just remember the prequel Pitch Perfect and forget that I watched Pitch Perfect 2. Also the music was not as good as the prequel's.
