Mental Murderous Rampage
27 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Just recently picked this movie up because it sounded cool. If you have read the plot, it is about a man who finds his wife cheating on him with a friend. This is at the very beginning. he does not kill them though. I was disappointed. However, it drives him nuts. As the years go on he gets more and more nuts and plays Truth or Dare with himself. He gets institutionalized, but escapes What we see in the rest of the film is Mike go on a rampage. I was enjoying the film, but once the action started getting better all I can say is WOW.

He drives around with a large assortment of weapons and kills anyone he please. Be it pedestrians or cops.

If you like slashers, if you like gore, if you like over the top gore this is the movie for you. It was quite the find.

naked chicks and blood
27 January 2006
tons of bad reviews on here. and People rely too much on IMDb, and what others think. MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND. If this movie sounds cool to you, check it out. If you hate it, so be it, but there is the possibility you will love it.

I watched the film last night, and enjoyed it. Yes it is bloody. A LOT of blood. There is not a ton of gore but there is some gore.

Give the movie a chance. I respect Nick Palumbo for doing what he wants to do and making bloody horror flicks, which cant be said for a lot of people.

If you want to see lots of naked chicks, and lots of blood, and a Nazi killer check this movie out, thats all I'll say.

Terror Firmer (1999)

A sick movie............I love it!
2 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Troma is a hate it or love it company. That being said, I love Troma. They put out truly independent cinema, and do not take themselves seriously, and that is why their movies are so fun. A lot of movies they have are trash, they even admit it, but they have over 1000 movies, and a lot were just distributed by Troma. The truly great Troma Team videos are the ones from the minds of Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz. Kaufman is the President of Troma, and Herz is the Co-President I believe. OK enough of the history lesson If you have seen Toxic Avenger, and thought it was over the top, you got to see Terror Firmer. Anyone who has seen Toxic Avenger cannot forget that scene with the kid on the bike and the car. Terror Firmer not only surpasses this, but it surpasses it on so many levels. Not to spoil anything major, but Terror Firmer pushes it on so many levels- including abortion, exploding breasts, and a lot of defecation, urination and vomit hilariousness. It would be pointless for me to explain these any further because 1) it would be a spoiler, 2) words cannot describe this movie. It is a MUST see.

One thing that I really like about this movie also, is how it looks and was shot. Toxic Avenger was an 80s movie and that was clearly evident, but this movie is shot in the same way. The film used, the overall feel of it. Show this to someone who doesn't know any better and they will tell you it looks like an 80s movie. it was actually made in 1999. I do not know if Troma has not got any new video equipment since then (and it doesn't surprise me) but this film looks and feels great. Troma is truly independent cinema.

If you have ever read anything about Lloyd Kaufman, or seen him anywhere you will know he is an outrageous character. If you haven't seen him, now is your chance. He plays a director in this movie, and he is hilarious. If you have any Troma Team on DVD make sure to watch the extras because Lloyd is a riot.

Terror Firmer makes a message about independent cinema. This is proof films today can still be good like the 80s films. if you are a Troma fan, a Toxic Avenger fan, love cheesy stuff from the 80s, or THINK U HAVE SEEN IT ALL- this is a must see.

Hard to find, but worth the effort
2 December 2005
This movie was hard to find. reading about it, I read it wasn't ever released in America. I have currently found it as a Region 2 (United Kningdom/Europe) DVD release.

that being said, this is one great documentary. I'm sure it was very shocking to anyone who saw it in 1982, it was shocking to me today. In today's world, the media- television, movies, music etc. There is a lot of violence. There is a lot of glamorization of violence. Some people like violence, some don't. That is not the point.

This documentary deals with murder rate in America. Its not just another documentary covering a few statistics here and there, this has excellent footage. You will hear surprising statistics, you will see serial killers, you will see actual people being shot.

It IS shocking. I have seen so much shocking stuff, that I am numb to a lot now, but this was shocking. I for one, never saw the entire JFK footage. Its on here. The Robert F Kennedy assassination is on here. A few other actual footages, or assassinations and assassination attempts are on here.

Serial killers are covered in depth in this documentary. You see actual footage of notorious killers such as Ted Bundy, and Charles Manson. You hear about others you may have heard of- Charles Whitman, John Wayne Gacy etc.

There were also some serial killers and incidents I never even heard of in this movie. There was one incident where a guy who gives out bank loans was taken hostage and paraded around the city for 3 days in front of the media and everyone. There is another incident where a guy takes over a TV station.

Today we have documentaries such as Bowling for Columbine, or Fahrenheit 911. These are trash. they do not show good legit footage, and the truth and statistics in these documentaries are twisted. I have no reason to believe anything in this Killing of America documentary is false. First of all, the footage is right there. The only thing that would be made up is the statistics, which I doubt.

This documentary is graphic. This documentary is shocking. It is also a great history lesson. You will learn more about killers and incidents you know. If you have not seen this film, and know a lot of the subject, you are still guaranteed to learn something.

I would say this is a must see for anyone interested in shocking real events, or interested in well made documentaries. It will shock you.

I keep it putrid like an HG Lewis film
2 December 2005
that is a line I heard in a song. I have heard of HG Lewis, but finally got around to seeing one of his movies Let me tell you, this movie is wayyy before my time, so many people of this generation may not appreciate this movie. I for one thought it was awesome.

It is about a town that appears every 100 years. This town, Pleasant valley, was wiped out by Yankees during the civil war. So when this town reappears, their goal is to find Yankees to invite to their town so they can have their revenge with them.

They manage to get 6 tourists passing by to enter their town, by putting up detours. They tell the tourists that the town is celebrating its centennial, and they must be guests of honor. the tourists have no idea what is going on, but they are provided with free accommodations such as hotels, and food, that they stay. They enjoy a nice barbecue. After the first night though, a few of the tourists go missing, and others start questioning where they are and what this celebration is actually really about. The townspeople jerk them around with answers like "they are on a walk", "the celebration is a surprise" One of the tourists discovers the awful truth, that they are there to be killed, and him and a woman try to escape. The other 4 are not so lucky, and they are all killed in creative ways. The townspeople make a game out of it, and tell the tourists (one by one, they separate them for different games), that they can play. But then they just use them for their amusement in a game of killing.

This movie was made in 1965. HG Lewis is often referred to as the Godfather of Gore. This film did indeed have blood and gore, and I imagine it was a lot for 1965.

I am a big fan of horror in the 80s , but have been watching older ones as of recently. The 70's decade offers a lot of great ones also, and now I can add one to the 1960s list of great horror.

I have heard of other HG Lewis films, i think Blood Feast being the most notorious. I held off on buying his Blood Trilogy set, because i wanted to see if I liked his style first, and I thoroughly enjoyed 2000 Maniacs, so I am definitely getting the set now.

great gory revenge movie
2 December 2005
Slaughter High is about a boy named Marty. He was harassed, and picked on in high school. A group of kids played several pranks on him, and these pranks were REALLY bad. The last prank ended tragically.

cue to 5 years later. The gang of kids meet up again for a reunion. One of them set it up at the old high school. The school is now abandoned, and they have to break in. For some reason, the Janitor is still there, but he tells them to go ahead and have fun because they give him a beer.

They start partying ,and looking at their old lockers, and they see something of Marty's. One girl feels sorry for Marty but another guy calms her down.

Once the kills begin, it is great. Every kills is creative and gory. We see a figure in a jester mask, hunting them one by one throughout the school. It appears Marty is back to exact revenge. After the first person is killed, they find out they are locked in the school. They begin looking for a way out.

Now, there are a number of illogical things in this movie. First of all, I don't know anyone who has a 5 year reunion. Second of all, after the first kid dies, a girl gets blood all over her. They all run away in a panic, yet she runs to the bathroom, and finds a bathtub. Hrr friend has just been killed, and she decides to take a bath!? More importantly, why is there a bathtub in a school bathroom. Anyways, the bathtub doesn't seem to really work....and she dies a horrible death this is an 80s movie. it is a horror slasher. WHO CARES if it has some illogical parts. I for one don't. This movie has really great deaths. The ending.... there is a twist. Having recently seen Haute Tension, I can compare the two. The only way they are similar is that there is a twist, which kind of left me disappointed.....THEN right after the twist, comes a great, if not the best kill, in the movie.

After the last kill, the killer looks at the screen and also does something crazy, and it was the perfect way to end the movie. It has me going "wow..."

A Boy's Best Friend is his mother
2 December 2005
that tag line may pertain to psycho, but definitely not here.

I saw many a horror when I was younger, mostly rentals. I have been making up for lost time and renting whatever i haven't seen, and going to every video store around looking for gems.

We have basically seen the whole Blockbuster horror section by now, or should I say Lackluster. One night I picked this one up at blockbuster, it had the sticker on it, advising that children under 17 cannot rent it. Few horror VHS's here had those stickers, so that sealed the deal. The plot also sounded cool What we got was one hell of a slasher. A boy is caught by his mother doing a nudie jigsaw puzzle and his mother starts throwing away all his toys. She is being a real bitch. She tells the boy to get a trash bag, but he comes back with something else and kills her. I wont spoil it, for this kill had me hooked once I saw it. He comes back with a nice weapon and kills her. It is a graphic death, and I loved it.

A few minutes later, a woman is at their door ringing the doorbell, because they were expecting her. When not let in, she fears something is wrong and gets the police. They find the woman murdered, and the child hiding in the closet. He tells them a psycho broke in.

Many years later, the killing begins again. The setting is at a new england college. Girls start being killed. We first see the killer take out the good ol' jigsaw puzzle, complete with bloodstains still on it.

He starts doing the jigsaw puzzle, you will see him complete the head portion, then he will go kill a girl and take her head, next you will see him put the arm pieces on, and go find a girl with nice arms and so on.

He is trying to remake his mother out of other girls, he is really a twisted guy. This movie will have you guessing who the killer is until the end. It has violent deaths, some really funny scenes, a very very random Chinese guy in one scene (its hilarious though), and the ending is awesome.

some may regard this as trash, personally I regard it as treasure

Beyond over the top, if you have a gore thirst, this will quench it
2 December 2005
I heard of this movie being referred to the Dead Alive of Kung Fu movies. Hey! Sounded good to me. I love Dead Alive (aka Peter Jackson's Braindead). It is the ultimate splatterfest.

No movie can surpass it, but Riki OH sure delivers in the gore department. This is another film that doesn't take itself too seriously. it is a fun film, with a lot of laughs.

The gore effects are cheesy, but who really cares. I prefer old school effects to todays CGI anyways.

The Story of Ricky is well, a story about Ricky. He is a crazy Japanese guy sent to jail, and anyone who gets in his way or gets him mad, he will kill.

From the moment we first meet Riki we are hooked. We see Riki being put into the jail system, and the guards discover he has metal on him. They make him go thru the detector a number of times, and find out he has bullets in his chest. They demand to know why they are there and Ricky responds- "I kept them as souvenirs" Now we know this guy is nuts.

There are some gangs in the jail, and there are people almost as crazy as Riki. They are doing illegal things and doing some illegal business operating out of the jail. They basically run the jail. They mess with Riki, and they put up a good fight, but do they have what it takes to defeat him? One of th first fights we see Riki in, is a HUGE sumo type guy is sent into the showers to kill Riki. This guy easily has 200 pounds on Riki if not more. Just by looking at them, Riki doesn't look like he could hold his own, but lets just say, the fat guy experiences A LOT of pain.

Riki gets a nail in his hand but does not even flinch. He is so nuts, he was trained to not feel pain, and channel it as strength.

In this movie, you will see heads being punched off, hands exploding, intestines being used as a strangling device and so much more. You will see crazy characters like Riki, the gangs, and the warden and his nephew.

If you like gore, crazy movies, fun movies not to be taken seriously, check out the Story of Ricky.

Killing with cars makes a good time
2 December 2005
this was recommended to me. I like cheesy movies people regard as trash. I heard about this movie, had a little trouble finding it, and found it at Walgreens of all places for 3.99 when I wasn't even looking.

If you have ever played Carmaggedon, this movie will seem familiar. If you haven't, the premise is to score points by running people over.

Deathrace 2k is about race car drivers who race across the country. They get points for killing people, like children and teens are worth a specific amount, and elderly people etc.

there are about 4 or 5 drivers. Each driver has a navigator, someone who tells them what roads to take. You have Sylvester Stallone, David Carradine as Frankenstein- a legend in the sport of death racing, a team of Nazis Herman the German, and Matilda the Hun, and a few others I forget.

If the navigator for a male is a female...the male gets some err benefits. No need to explain, watch and find out.

there is cool kills. A car tries to run over a baby for bonus points but something horrible happens to them. A cool glimpse of Stallone early on in his career.

Carradine is cool as always.

The french are made fun of in this movie. Id say, your looking for a cheesy, fun movie check it out. Also worth a look too for David Carradine and Stallone

Overlooked Classic, one of the best horror movies ever
2 December 2005
OK, I am a big fan of horror, and I love slashers. i have seen so many, and yes like many others I believe the 80s produced the best slashers. I am a gorehound, I love gory movies. I am usually disappointed when there is little gore.

I watched Black Christmas about 1 year ago, and it instantly became one of my favorite horror movies. There is little gore, but the film makes up for that.

It starts out at a sorority house right before winter break. Some of the girls start disappearing one by one, what they don't know right away though, is that there is a killer in the house, and he has been in there longer than they think This movie is great from start to finish. The "the call is coming from inside the house" originated from this movie. The calls are some of the creepiest, craziest, most lunatic stuff you will ever hear.

I would say this is a must see for horror fans, slasher or otherwise. This is one of the earliest slashers, so it is cool to see where films got inspiration from. This is a severely underrated classic, and I seriously think every horror fan should check it out

Pure exploitation greatness
2 December 2005
I have recently got into exploitation films, and shock cinema, video nasties, whatever you want to call them I heard about this one and tracked it down, and it did not disappoint.

It is about 3 convicts who escape when being transported to jail. They go on a killing spree, and then invade a family's home. This family happens to be black. The head convict is a racist, even towards his fellow convicts (A china man, and a Spanish guy). If you cannot handle racism, you should not check out this movie.

The racist character makes the audience root for the family, and the last 15 minutes are action packed and do not disappoint.

This movie also has some good kills. One of the highlights is a boy being killed by the convict, but you will have to watch to find out how.

The movie has it all. It has some laughs, some good kills, and some good action.

A disgrace
19 September 2005
Where can I begin. I heard this movie was coming out and I was very mad. I am a huge fan of the original Carlito's Way and when I heard about this, I thought it would be just like almost all the other sequels that come out in Hollywood. I thought it would be bad. Boy was I wrong, this movie was much worse than I expected. Not saying all sequels are bad, but thats the problem with Hollywood these days, they make too many sequels and remakes and rush them. This was not a theater release, it is a DVD release. Still, in my opinion, there was no reason at all for this to be made. After I heard about this film was in progress, I then later heard Pacino was not in it. That right away killed any chance this movie had of being good. Why did I check this movie out then some of you may ask? Well I had the opportunity to see it so I did. I don't only watch movies that I have high expectations of, I had low expectations on this one obviously. I just wanted to see if it would have anything relevant in it. Now, if any of you reading this are a Carlito's Way fan, you know a lot of the story in the first one has to do with him going to jail.

*VERY MINOR SPOILER* I wont ruin anything, because this may actually make you not want to waste 2 hours watching this trash. All I will say is- in the end of Carlito's Way 2, we don't see Carlito go to jail. Now, I don't know about any of you, but I would have thought a prequel to Carlitos Way would show how he ended up in jail. I even had some interest in actually seeing what happened.

Now, thats not my only problem with the film. The actor who played Carlito did not do too bad a job, but he could not have saved this film if he tried. There's not even all those little things that should be thrown in there that Carlito's Way fans would like. You don't see any appearance of Kleinfeld or other key characters in the first one, I would have liked to see something like that. What is even worse, is Luis Guzman is in this film, yet he doesn't play the same character he plays in the first film. Big mistake on their part, why cast the same actor for a different character, it made the movie worse than it already was.

Bottom line, I am a Carlito's Way fan, this new straight to DVD release is a disgrace. If you are a fan, don't watch this movie coming in with high expectations. This movie did basically nothing for me, and it is definitely one movie I wont be picking up on DVD, or watching ever again.
