Toast of the Town: Episode #7.6 (1953)
Grace Kelly & Ralph Meerker in Delightful Scene
Episode includes a comedy song and dance scene set at a State College. Librarian Grace Kelly provides a French lesson to American football star Ralph Meeker as they sing and dance. Great performance from both of them. Filmed in 1953 but not shown until Sunday April 15, 1956, with permission of Grace Kelly, as she was about to set sail to become Princess of Monaco, on the understanding that her performance money be donated to charity.
Monte Carlo: C'est La Rose (1968)
An unusual mix
TV special promoting the principality of Monaco and city of Monte Carlo for tourism and as a locale for the arts. Pricess Grace of Monaco narrates and the sights and sounds are combined with musical entertainment: singing from Francois Hardy and Gilbert Becaud, dancing from David Winters and some light hearted humour from Terry Thomas. The highlight is Gilbert Becaud singing Sand and Sea interspersed with a montage of Grace walking through a rose garden and waves crashing against rocks. It makes for an interesting, if slightly unusual, mix of entertainment!
