John Wick tells the story of a man seeking revenge. The plot is very simple and straightforward so my review will be comparable. John Wick experiences a series of unfortunate tragedies and consequently, he spends the rest of the movie delivering head shots to the men who were responsible. The simplicity of the plot is effective because it gives us plenty of time to focus on the action. And the action is where this movie shines. The martial arts and gun fighting provide eye candy like you've never seen. And the amazing stunt work is accompanied by flawless editing and directing. The guys who made this seriously knew what they were doing.
John Wick takes place in a dark and stylish Universe full of assassins and bounties. The music is dope, the characters are interesting, the action is slick and Keanu provides his best performance since The Matrix as he performs 95% of his own stunts.
One of the best pure action flicks I've seen in recent years 9/10
