Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (2017)

A Movingly heartfelt look at Joan Didion and her loves and losses. She's an icon, I never knew about and wished I'd known sooner. I enjoyed her perspective on life in the 60's. I only had my mom's perspective. She's real, human and expresses herself so uniquely. I related well to her and her daughter's relationship. The part where Q tells her mom how she did as a mom, " you were ok, but remote", I could relate that within my relationship with my mom. I feel like there so much more I want to learn from her. I will be reading some of her many novels. I cannot wait.

Inspiring and Like so many!

I liked the movie. It was overall an inspiring story. It was mostly kept lighthearted and upbeat and I think this fits the story and allows a youngerish demographic to be able to see it. The music overall good except a few songs. Acting was awesome! Singing was superb. It's a story that's been told before because so many young people are having these exact issues.

Cinderella (I) (2021)

This is a movie for people who want to reimagine the Cinderella story. It includes today's issues, forgiveness, love, and more. I don't know what exactly everyone was expecting? I'm glad they didn't do the same trite story over again by making it about the patriarchal royalty. The singing was superb. The acting was excellent. I think people are being extremely harsh.

Hoarders: Carol (2020) Season 11, Episode 1

There is way more than hoarding going on.

Just watched this episode and I just wanted to scream at the tv! First, I don't know anything about Carol's past but she definitely had some other mental health issues. The family is correct in that they wanted the house to be put back the way it was. The family, except Mary, were just horrible. I can understand the hoarding and being mad at that, but to ignore the fact that you may also be mad at Be for killing herself should have been obvious . The hatred towards Carol was over the top. Shame on the psychologist for not intervening with anything. The shadow of Be hung over that family and especially Carol it was stifling. No wonder there was a hoarding issue. Just like alcoholism , hoarding affects the whole family. They all needed counseling. I really think the only person who came out of this, sort of healthy was Mary the step-granddaughter. At the end of the episode you find out that it was all for naught. I wanted to say that I was proud of Mary and how she handled her grandma. It takes a lot of strength to be firm and kind at the same time. The rest of the situation was just truly heartbreaking.

I really enjoyed this quirky story of a young woman who is confused about everything. Bring it back, Netflix! You can't just leave us hanging like that. I can understand cancelling it because of the pandemic but you really need to finish this story at least!

Surprisingly Good

I never write reviews. I just had to. This show has it all like everyone has already said. I thought this was just another feel good/ bad then good again, it's way more than that! Very talented actors/writing. Truly a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I can't wait for another season!
