The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Thriller parody, or just a poorly written thriller? Hard to tell with this one
This show was just so cheesy and poorly written that it was hard to take serious, yet it was not until the last two episodes that it became all too clear that this was the purpose from the start. It just takes a turn that is so dumb and bizarre you realize this has to be a parody. The problem here is that the clichés and absurdity through out the show was never actually funny.
Rather than actually seeming like the point was to make fun of over-used mystery genre tropes (which I suppose was the intention), it just came across as an extremely poorly written mystery story, for the most part. There are plot points and twists that are so weird and dumb they'll have you thinking this can't be serious, but for the most part it actually seems like this show is taking itself as seriously as any other thriller and just doing a really bad job in the writer's room.
The show itself isn't directly boring, but certainly isn't very good either. It's hard to wrap your head around what they were actually trying to achieve here.
FX's American Horror Story: Apocalypse After Show (2018)
Oh how this show has fallen
How this one managed to get a 7.6 rating is beyond me. It seems people must have rated without even watching the mess itself. I'd give it a 2/10, but concidering the ridiculously high average rating, I'm giving this one my first 1/10.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Mediocre movie with bad soundtrack
I'm not seeing people mentioning this, so I'm just gonna put it out there:
This movie's soundtrack does not fit in with the scenes at all! The music completely took me out of the movie over and over again. The score wasn't terribly written in and of itself, but most of the time the music just sounds completely random and out of place. It hardly ever fits the scene.
Overall this movie is a mediocre netflix slasher. It's one of those bad movies you'll have more fun making fun of than actually watching, but this also kinda makes it worth checking out (at least if you enjoy making fun of stupid movies with friends).
