An awesome addition to DC featuring the Titans!
4 April 2017
This was a movie I was skeptical about. I was not a fan of Justice League vs Teen Titans, but I did like the Titans. After sitting down and watching it on my day off, all I can say is that I'm very pleased and geeking out with excitement about this movie.

This movie is just flat out great. The voices are fantastic, the story is simple and awesome, and the characters and their chemistry is amazing. It was fun, emotional, coherent, and carries itself in a manner many question DC on.

It's shocking and astonishing how WB/DC has been able to hit it out of the park with their Animated Properties. Justice League Dark and the character's chemistry was amazing, the Justice League films are also very good, and now this movie just add's so much to the lore and mythology of the DC lore.

One of the things that worked out pretty well in the film was Deathstroke. I love this guy and he's amazing whenever he's on screen. His story with one of the main heroes was eh (ish), but he still worked. And I can definitely say I'm excited for the live- action version of the character.

I adore Nightwing & Starfire's relationship. This movie has a lot of it and it's handled extremely well. It's always alienated by comic writers and those high up in DC for whatever reason, and have this illusion that Nightwing is destined to be with Oracle. I personally think it should be the other way around, and this movie just illustrates that point.

I cant wait for more Teen Titans in whatever platform they bring it in. 9/10 from me on this movie. I can't wait to pick up the blu-ray and watch it again!

Honest Review (No fanboyism.) of Captain America.
4 May 2016
This was a movie that had an intriguing story, and since I own the Civil War comic, I was curious to see how this movie would play out. I had hoped it might right the wrongs made by Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Well guys, I was wrong.

No bias, completely honest. Captain America: Civil War is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

This entire film is nothing but rabbit trails, it is leading up to a film that never happens, Baron Zemo is one of the worst villains in a comic book movie to date (Next to Dr. Doom.) This movie is a complete cashgrab, the fight scenes look so fake, it has absolutely no emotional weight.

The fight scenes have no stakes or consequences whatsoever. They are making quips every other second, and it's super cringeworthy. The Ant-Man stuff (No spoilers.) in the movie is so laughable, I could not take the fight serious whatsoever.

The things in this movie that are supposed to make it feel epic, is total complete garbage. A lot of the characters come off whiny in this movie (Stark, Romanoff, Black Panther.). Black Panther, i will admit did have some cool moments, and he was one of my only positives of this.

Movies are supposed to make you care, feel the heat of the battle, and feel the suspense of what's going on. I felt absolutely nothing for these characters, and the fact they kept deflating the movie with their stupid jokes made it even more difficult to feel the intensity of the battle.

At least I felt it with Batman and Superman. That movie may have had a lot of problems, but I like it more because it was bold and I felt for Batman and Superman in the battle (Like the mother scene, it felt really emotional, but the movie kinda smothered the premise.) And every punch thrown in that movie, you felt it. Like the Warehouse scene, it felt real and I could feel the heat of the battle because every punch thrown could be felt. And with that movie, at least they had the balls to do bold things. This movie had no balls, let alone a spine.

The main hero of the movie; Captain America, his reasons and logic to fight is completely stupid, and he was the most annoying character next to Stark.

This is a Captain America movie, but I did not care for him. This was my issue with them doing Civil War with this movie, I knew they would not do that story justice, and it was a mistake from the beginning to include ALL the avengers. And regardless of whether you agree with me now, you probably will agree with this 2-3 years from now.

Spider-Man, all I can say is, this guy will not shut up. I hated his suit and found him totally annoying (I liked Andrew Garfield more than Tom Holland.). Yes, I realize that's what he's like from the comics, but he comes off so over the top in this movie. At least Andrew Garfield balanced it to a point where he's not annoying, the movie just didn't do him justice (Both TASM and this.)

Do not believe in the hype of this movie at all, cause you are being deceived (Like that moron Chris Stuckmann giving this movie an A+? What the heck is he smoking thinking that?)

Don't buy into the lie about seeing it just because it's fun and entertaining. Cause your setting yourself up for disappointment.

I'm going to give this movie a 3/10. I'm sorry Marvel fans, I just did not like it. As a matter of fact, I hated it.

If you love or enjoy this movie, that's fine and I'm glad you guys enjoy it. But you have to acknowledge sooner or later that Marvel has no spine, and this fun and light tone is extremely cringeworthy and them smothering powerful stories is just wrong (Civil War was a total game changer in the comics, people died, consequences happened, this was no where near that.)

Jessica Jones (2015–2019)
2/10
An honest review of Jessica Jones
7 January 2016
After seeing so much acclaim and talk around this series, i decided to check it out and see what all the fuss was about...

So here our my honest thoughts on Jessica Jones.

I couldn't even get past how not good this show was in the episode i watched. The Music and Cinematography are pretty good, i'm not denying that, but i found it not compelling at all, more boring than anything else.

First of all, i do not like sex in anything (Movies, TV, Video Games, etc.) it's dirty, it's gross, and my belief is that it's a private thing that should not be displayed in media, and this show starts off with that, and then Jones sitting on a balcony watching someone do sex in a window. I felt dirty watching this show. And as we watch Jones, we find she drinks, is depressing and broken, and just a scarred person who gives off a disgusting vibe when your near this person. I cannot believe a show that makes me feel dirty and miserable inside is such a beloved show. Why do people praise things that are depressing and dirty? I don't get it.

And then we go through seeing Jones' life and what she does and running from her past etc etc. Things that have been done in a much better and smarter way when it comes to shows or movies. These things are supposed to make you feel for the main hero, care about them. i didn't feel compassion for Jessica Jones, i did for Agent Coulson (Agents of SHIELD.) and Agent Carter, not Jones though.

When it comes to anything that is acclaimed, be mindful, cause you make may regret what you see after because you've been duped by it.

My rating is 2/10... I'm sorry, i just didn't like it at all. I'm not buying this acclaim and best show ever made garbage (You want something that's better? Agent Carter, The Andy Griffith Show, The Wild Wild West. Anything that makes it feel fun and love action and heroes being heroes.)

Beyond the Mask is a really, really hard movie to swallow on all levels.
12 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A friend of mine invited me to see this at a local theater, and I went since I wasn't doing much. My expectations were modest when I went in, so I wasn't expecting much. The whole time I was watching, I was cringing at every point of the movie. Not because of its low production levels, but because of the story.

First of all, the Costumes and Sets were very well done, along with the Visual Effects and Music. The characters were interesting to say the least, but some dragged down the story and its structure. The thing that messed it up was its story, about an Assassin trying to find redemption. It's whole story was muddled and filled with a lot of romantic story that made incredibly difficult to watch. Another thing is using this to brainwash people into thinking that murderers can be redeemed and not face trial for their crimes. Just because in the ending the person becomes a Christian, does not erase what he has done, and should still be hung for his crimes.

Another problem is that the movie takes from a lot of other movies and is not original. Many of the action scenes were discount Assassin's Creed, and the whole mask thing was discount Superhero films in general. The dialogue is also very stomach cringing and terrible to listen to.

Overall; Great visual effects, costumes, setting, and music. Terrible story, bad dialogue, and some pretty bad characters.

I would not recommend it to anyone, not even to Christians.

Disappointing, and a letdown, and i'll explain why:
2 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It was okay. It wasn't terrible, but neither was it great. It felt more like a letdown than anything else, not being angry or joyful about it, just disappointed, because I really wanted to like it and tried hard to like it. I'll explain why it was disappointing:

The movie tried very hard to be funny, and at times it was. But me and most of the audience laughed at only 50% of it, the rest felt forced and unnatural. With the funny moments, they were forgettable. I mean with Transformers 4, there was one moment that will always be remembered. The moment when they are in the hall with the old Chinese ladies and Stanly Tucci says "How do you say get the *beep* out of the way in Chinese?" that was worth remembering, the middle finger thing and the blacklight joke was like, meh.

This movie was forgettable, unlike Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Dark Knight. There was nothing that stood out like those two. With CA:TWS, it had my heart racing with emotion about whether Cap was going to succeed in getting the third Carrier locked, or he would fall and HYDRA would succeed. And the Carrier's being destroyed had been so powerful. The final action scene was very predictable, and you knew Ronan would lose in the end. And the other predictable part was the switching with the Blue guy in the end.

The characters also gave me no reason to cheer for them either. What makes Cap 2 so great was that I was rooting for him to take down HYDRA, but this was difficult to like them.

Peter was interesting and funny at times, but wasn't really likable. Gamora was just there and don't ask questions. Drax was okay, Groot I liked a bit but just felt weird with only "I am Groot." Coming out of his mouth. Raccoon was okay, but not great or impressive.

The action was also not impressive because I have been there and done that many times earlier in the year (Edge of Tomorrow and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.)

Vin Diesel was a complete waste. I'm actually starting to think they just used him as a marketing tool (Slick Disney.), I mean come on he only said like 5 words the entire movie. I wished his voice was used more other than "I am Groot."

Lajohn was right about this probably having no legs in the long run, because when we left, no one really cared about it in the end. I could hear people around us and there mood was just, meh. There was not any clapping at the end either unlike some places.

I wish and I was hoping that it would be groundbreaking like Critics and everybody here on the forums said. But once again, I have been duped by Disney.

This was most definitely overrated by critics and audiences alike, the same way MOS, TDKR, T:TDW, IM3, IM2, were overrated.

And it's not like I'm trying to hate on this movie. I don't hate it, but neither do I love it. When I left, I was just sad. I didn't hate the movie, but neither did I love it. it just felt like a letdown from Marvel, and a disappointment.

The final rating I would give it is about: 5, maybe 6/10.

This movie though does make me appreciate the fact that Avengers: Age of Ultron is coming very soon! Which I can't wait for!

And its ties to MCU weren't spectacular.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020)
9/10
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hits the mark!
31 July 2014
Normally I do not pay attention to Television, since my favorite shows Missing and Last Resort got cancelled, but this is one that has got my attention to make me enjoy TV again!

It is a show that follows Agent Phil Coulson (My favorite actor in the MCU.) and his team as the go around the globe doing missions for S.H.I.E.L.D, and how they must battle the elements.

The show did hit a few clinkers during it's first 22 episode run, with it being sometimes predictable and not very strong stories, but after T.R.A.C.K.S. (Ep 13.) the show found it's way to being a super great show.

The crossovers between the films and the shows have been hit or miss. With episodes like 'The Well' (Crossover with Thor: The Dark World.) being terrible and a lousy story. But 'Turn Turn Turn' (Crossover with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.) did hit the mark and definitely had an impact from the movie.

I do wish they more guest stars from the MCU movies (Other than Fury, Hill, Sitwell, and Lady Sif.) like JARVIS or Dr. Banner or Hawkeye, but maybe for Season 2.

Joss Whedon is one of the best at the business, but I do wish he had more of an impact in the show, just so we can know he cares about it and is giving it the time from him it deserves.

The rating I would give this show is most definitely 9/10 for many reasons. It's fun, exciting, great cast, love the Marvel touch, only show that has my attention, and finally having a meaning in the MCU.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier nicely done sequel that is better than the first!
21 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The wait is over Captain America: The Winter Soldier is finally here. This movie blew my mind! It had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing right up until the very last scene. I even stayed to watch the credits.

It begins with Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, (Chris Evans) still struggling to adapt to the 21st century and his work with S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). With each clandestine mission his doubts grow of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s integrity and honesty. His doubt is confirmed during a hostage rescue, when he catches Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)(WARNING: SPOILER ALERT) performing a mission outside the defined parameters of the mission. Captain America become suspicious of S.H.I.E.L.D., it's mission and everyone in it.

The score I would give this movie is about 9/10. I'm still working on whether it's better than The Avengers, it's a toss up. But this was extremely well done with excellent story telling, awesome action, fantastic actors, and great funny one liner's that kept it very interesting and entertaining.
