Cold Blood Legacy (2019)
Plot explained
Leon, I mean Henry, has been hired to kill a father and son by Davies who works for the father. Henry figures out that Charlie is actually a girl and after spending some time with her decides not to go through with it. Davis does not inherit the fortune unless Charlie is dead, so when he thinks Charlie has killed Henry for killing her father, he sends Malcolm to track down and kill Charlie. Malcolm doesn't realise until it is too late that Henry is still alive, a mistake that costs him his life. After Henry has protected Charlie and makes sure "it is all hers now", he alerts the police and chooses death by cop.
Reading some of the other reviews it is clear not everyone understood what was going on.
Billy Jack Goes to Washington (1977)
The third Billy Jack movie
Some of the other reviews state this was the fourth and final Billy Jack movie, when it was in fact the third movie featuring the Billy Jack character. It follows on from The Trial of Billy Jack (1974) and is followed by The Return of Billy Jack (1986).
There is also speculation that the film has been heavily cut, from the original runtime of 1 55 to 114 minutes for the video release. Seems to me there is a good chance 155 isn't the runtime in minutes, but is the runtime in hours and minutes = 1h55m. The video release was 1h54m, as is the version available on streaming services. The NTSC DVD release was 1h50m, so that version does appear to have had some edits.
Ecco (2019)
If you are suspicious about watching this, you should be.
The movie itself was alright, not as bad as some people are making it out to be.
Now you may notice a lot of reviewers think it is the best movie made in the past 100 years, and deserves a perfect 10. What is suspicious is all these one or two line reviews were posted on the same day in August 2019. One might think someone connected to the production of the movie came on to imdb to inflate the rating.
Blade Runner: Black Lotus: The Davis Report (2022)
Midseason recap
Blade Runner: Black Lotus returns for 2022 with a recap of the events so far, as told through the eyes of Office Davis.
So far the series has been jumping backward and forwards in time, but this episode plays out in chronological order. I would imagine the remainder of the season will follow on from these events. I'm looking forward to Elle learning everything about her past.
Vikings: The Best Laid Plans (2020)
You've got it all wrong
Do people really think that what they saw on screen was real? The clue is that Bjorn and Ivar were at no point sitting on a beach together chatting.
Each sequence was from either the point of view of Bjorn or Ivar, trying to out think each other. None of what you saw really happened. Ivar cannot of been on a beach killing Bjorn whilst at the same time climbing a cliff.
Season 6 Part 2 will start with the actual events of the stratagies that they decided to go with.
That's what I think at least, otherwise that really was a terrible episde.
Too Old to Die Young (2019)
Love it or hate it
This show will divide viewers. But just because some people hate it, doesn't mean it isn't good. We live in an age of information overload. Where the art of conversation is almost lost. If I spend a few seconds considering my reply, someone will speak out of turn. People feel the need to say something even when nothing needs to be said.
Anyone older than 50 won't struggle as much with the pace of this show. An audience used to be enthralled just waiting for a train to arrive (Once Upon A Time In The West). The look on someone's face didn't need to be explained with several lines of dialogue. But now we have come to expect to be bombarded with dialogue, sfx and cgi from start to finish for 1h30, so that we can get back to our hectic lives.
Yes there are some characters who don't say much, and when they do they don't rush what they have to say. But in contrast there are other characters that speak without thinking and do not back up their words with action, which highlights to the audience just how stupid they really are.
This is certainly a show for adults, as some of the subject material is unsettling. You do need to give it time. I am 6 episodes in, and find it compelling. The casting is spot on, and the acting is excellent.
I am thankful this show got made so there is some variety, as we don't need yet another super hero show.
When was the last time you sat outside and just watched the sun set for an hour? I encourage you all just to step back from your busy lives and give this show a chance. But I'm not going to force you to watch it, as it certainly isn't for everyone.
