Ghostbusters (2016)
Very enjoyable night at the movies!
I was at the theaters for the openings of every Ghostbusters and original Star Wars, yeah, in old. I thought the ladies did a great job rebooting Ghostbusters in a fresh way! And who can complain about the comedic effect of pretty boy Thor??? Yes, I loved the first Ghostbusters, because the first is always special, along with Murray's chemistry, but this was a new first. Props to SNL gals!!!
King Kong (2005)
Beautiful, sincere, great action, heart warming.
Beautiful, sincere, great action, heart warming. I couldn't take my eyes off beautiful connection between Kong and Naomi Watts. Felt true connection to Kong, unlike 1933 version, probably because the special effects are so realistic. This movie will stand on it's own for decades to come. Wonderful job Peter Jackson!
Into the Forest (2015)
Ending makes more sense from book...
The premise in the book is that there were footprints of a stranger outside before they ditched their house for safer woods. Also the solar, eco friendly house was 30 miles from any other house, therefore no visitors because no gas. So I agree that the movie version plot was stupid, rushed way to exit house. I would've rested a few days after childbirth and relocated pots, cooking supplies, books, house making gear, tools, and big berry strainers before burning down house. Maybe start a new structure by stump. But book showed they wanted to hide from people, so they were living as minimalist. Too bad they didn't share that with us. Footprints, something more looming. But I found movie interesting until the burning. And I noticed leaking roof doing damage. I found it hard to believe the book smart sister wouldn't have repaired the roof much earlier. They did mention the father had work to finish up house... Lazy way to cause exit instead of using book plot of stalker. Basically though, people worse than elements.
