Quicksand (2019)
High quality Scandinavian crime drama that keeps you engaged and wondering right through to the end, just wow!
I've always been a fan of the Scandinavian shows because of they're high quality of filmmaking in both script, storyline and actors. And this show is by far my favorite. It has all this and much more. The performance of the young actors is outstanding, especially the two main characters, Maja and Sebastien.Maja in her emotional rollercoaster from the day she gets with Sebastien, through to the court case where she is accused of the most horrific act. And Sebastien from his descend into madness and depression. What begins as an innocent summer love between the two turns into a very unhealthy and very intense relationship, bound to go off the rails. I shed a tear or two at the end,it's that good! Must see, go watch, right now!!!
Prometheus (2012)
Oh Mr. Scott, you were nearly halfway there....
Could have been a lot better, as a sci-fi movie it lived up to my expectations, great look and eye for detail, everything you can expect with today's technology to make a movie look spectacular, but it couldn't hide what bad script it has, the many plot holes and ridiculous characters...(Theron was a bit of a disappointment too)it seems they spent a lot of time on the look of the movie but not the story...too much going on, too little explained, the xenomorph went from black fluid to snake like entity to octopus to octopus/jockey.....come on an octopus?? what happened to the original creature design we all got to love....anyway, i can go and on.....but read the reviews on here and you pretty much get an idea of all it's flaws, I agree with most of them. This movie is a victim of it's time...too much relying on the awe, too little on the story, too bad Mr. Scott that you bowed to the big Hollywood bosses, times were better in 1979....
Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009)
Waste of celluloid...
This is my first review on IMDb, so bear with me, and let my first review be on this piece of garbage, straight to DVD, 3rd installment of the Wrong Turn saga...but I feel it my obligation to warn you, don't waste any money or time on it....whoever made this, obviously didn't! I enjoyed the first Wrong Turn, not the best in the genre, but a fun movie to watch (loved Eliza Dushku is this one). Especially after WT 2, I should have know better...this was going to disappoint. And it did more than that, I wouldn't even pick it up at the store if they were giving it out for free. Other than to burn it and make sure nobody else ever gets to see it.
Ah well, I know, especially in horrorland, sequels, good sequels are a rare find, as in any genre btw, but some are enjoyable to watch because they have something of the original in it, be it characters, plot, script.
WT 3 has none. I didn't even care when any of the characters met they're untimely and gruesome death. The script probably written on a post-it, the acting sometimes painful, overall pretty bad, and the special effects, well, not good enough to save this mess.
So, if you have never seen WT, watch the first one, never mind the rest, take my word on it 1/10
