And Just Like That...: Bomb Cyclone (2023)
Season 2, Episode 6
8/10
Wow, the writers finally got their bearings
22 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have been watching AJLT mostly out of nostalgia, but not really enjoying it until this episode. Most of it feels cringe and unrelatable, and didn't have any of the magic we all loved in the original series.

This episode (aside from Charlottes usual ridiculousness) finally featured all of the things that we loved about SATC. Character development, emotion, amazing wardrobe, and Carrie reading from her book. Miranda thus far had not felt like her original character at all, being all clingy and following Che around like a lost puppy, but the fight between her and Steve evoked that nostalgia that has been sorely lacking. I sincerely hope Aiden actually comes back, he was one of my favorite characters and if we can't have Big at least we could have our other comfort couple. If the show continues in this vein it will be far more enjoyable.

It took me while to put my finger on it...

Warning: Spoilers
I, like many others here, have been a fan of the series of the show since the 90s. I even sorta loved the over-the-top ridiculousness of the movies.

When I heard Samantha wouldn't be returning , I was heartbroken like everyone else. I watched this new series and was shocked, heartbroken, but watched up into the latest episode (season 6) out of morbid curiosity.

At the end of season 6 Carrie wears the iconic dress from Season 6 episode 1 so I go back and watch those 2 finale episodes just out of nostalgia.

What this current series lacks, aside from Samantha, is heart. It is all social issues and no heart there isn't even any heart in Carrie losing Big. The thing I loved about the series, and even the movies, was the the soulfullness that helped all of us "little people" relate to these big fancy lives. Having children, reproductive issues , sick elderly parents, cancer, and complicated friendships. Things pretty much everyone could relate to in some way.

All of that is missing from this new series. There is no heart and all sounding board. Heart and soul has been replaced by political issues and agendas.

Unless you are a 60 year old woman who is going through a sexualtiy crisis or a 60 year old woman who must date because you wrote an amazing novel after your husband died, it will be very difficult to relate to this new show. And thats really where it loses its audience. Relatability.

Will I finish this show? Yeah. Will I enjoy it? Probably not. I kind of wish they had just left it on the sour note that Movie #2 left in our mouths... shocking in all the wrong ways but ridiculous in only the way that SATC can be.

I would've rated it higher if it weren't for...
17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All the graphic violence against women scenes.

I've recently found and have been binging Harlen Coben series on Netflix. This is my fourth one and probably the best one I've seen so far (although the stranger is a close second).

I loved all of the tests and turns in this story, it was really well paced and surprising.

However we don't need to see graphic rape scenes, ESPECIALLY against children. That went too far and for this reason alone I probably won't recommend anyone to watch it.

What the hell happened to this show
13 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So Anne and her family move to Cochrane Alberta and the whole episode is an absolute middle finger to Alberta. Pill popping moms not working and getting drunk at brunch, dead animals mounted on a the walls, and people wearing cowboy gear all the time. So... basically women in TO are the height of sofistication and women in Alberta are drunken delatantes. Got it.

This show is drunk and needs to go home.

Realism at it's most gut wrenching

I watched this show over the course of 2 days and it ripped my heart to pieces and then knit it back together again. I saw myself and my young daughter in the same situations that Alex faced if I hadn't had my parents there to catch me. Honestly I messaged my mom when it was over and thanked her for everything g she did for me. It was a show of triumph, heart break, and the resiliency of the human spirit. Fantastic performances by all.

What a waste of good talent
16 July 2021
I really wanted to like this film, it has such a great cast. But the dialogue was absolutely disastrous and the soundtrack was painful. I was actually praying for it to end. Don't get me wrong, I love a fun, silly movie but this wasn't even that. Don't waste your time.

It was an interesting tale, give it a shot. I think it'll hit different depending on who you are/how high you are. Best performance by that guy from the Matrix

I can't believe they got Harvey Dent for this film
7 May 2020
This film has a lot of great talent in it but they kinda rushed through it and thus missed out on what these guys can do. Other than that its a fun apocalypse movie that is enjoyable if you just kinda look the other way... every 5 minutes lol

Run to another show...
23 April 2020
This is painful, awkward, and boring. Apparently these 2 left their life to be together but for the life of me I cant figure our why. They seem to hate each other. The only reason I decided to watch this was that it was from the makers of fleabag, but it has NONE of the charm of fleabag. If I wanted to watch an awkward relationship unfold between 2 people who lowkey hate each other I'd just go have dinner with my parents.

I'm bored
23 December 2019
I'm halfway through episode 3 and this show is moving at a glacial pace with no apparent goal. Henry Cavill is a snack as usual but other than his being a witcher who wanders aimlessly from place to place to kill monsters then show doesnt have a point. Maybe that's the point of it? Idk. Anyways I just thought I'd post a review for everyone who hasn't played the game or read the books

My boyfriend makes me watch this
23 April 2019
This show is overly dramatic thanks to soniqua-whatever-her-name-is and it's so predictable. The romances dont make sense, pew pew light battles are dumb captain pike is hot as balls. The only semi good part of the show is the lesbian comedian (love her!). If you know all the ins and outs of star trek you might like this show like my nerdy ass boyfriend. But if you're new-ish to the franchise prepare to be bored. I'm so happy that this is the last episode of season 2, I think I'm going to break up with my boyfriend just so I don't have to watch this crap anymore.

Down the rabbit hole we go

Do enjoy terrible acting (if I never listen to Riley Keough speak again it'll be too soon)? Do you enjoy watching paint dry? Do you enjoy brutal violence for no reason at all? Then this is the movie for you!

Seriously I'm home from work with the stomach flu and this film isn't helping.

Well I made it to episode 9...
23 March 2018
.... which is more than I can say for most people that hated it. I guess being that it's a comedy show and humor is pretty individual you'll either love it or hate it. I find myself in the latter group, wondering why the lead character has to be so cringe worthy. Maybe if he were in it less then the show would be more enjoyable. This is a show about one man doing his best to get laid with everyone except the one woman who actually wants to have sex with him. Idk give it a try, maybe you'll like it. I personally find it boring and difficult to watch.

Bad Moms (2016)
So much fun, what is all of this bad press about?
5 June 2017
I saw this movie with 5 other women and all of us are moms. We loved the movie!!! I don't understand what all these bad reviews are about??? "Moms acting like frat boys" like that's a bad thing... Hey if you have childcare and you go out and blow off some steam why is that a negative thing? As moms in this day and age we have SO much to stress about and this movie captured that perfectly. From dealing with young children to and marriages to dealing with those seemingly "perfect" mothers this movie handled it all with refreshing humor. I've seen it several times, don't listen to the negative reviews and give it a try!
