I guess I'm the only one that liked Season 2 better!
28 February 2021
Season 1 was hard to watch! I powered through because I like Kevin James, but I found the show lacked any real storyline. I mean a 50+ year old retired cop is gonna sit around eating at Enzo's or playing with his Men of a Certain Age buddies every episode?! Plus, there was no chemistry with the actress that played his wife.

Season 2 was SO much better! And much funnier. I really liked the private security firm angle. it made sense and inspired some really fun episodes! I also liked that they brought in Leah Remini, even though it's tough watching her looking so old and plastic looking after all the surgery. Considering how pretty she was in the early seasons of King of Queens, I ain't gonna lie, it was tough to watch! BUT, it was amazing the chemistry that her and Kevin James have 10+ years later! I'm disappointed that Netflix or someone else didn't pick up the show after CBS cancelled them.

Cobra Kai (2018–2025)

Hawk is the man!
17 July 2020
REALLY enjoyed season #1, it was so well done especially about blending the past and the present. That seemed to fade a bit in season #2 as did the fun. Season #2 just seemed to go askew with too much relationship nonsense. I'm hopeful that Netflix will get the series back on track in season #3.

One thing I thought was really well done in season #1 was taking Cobra Kai, the clear cut bad boys from the original Karate Kid movies back in the day, and making them the underdog you were rooting for. The season #1 finale was awesome! Unfortunately, the season #2 finale was a train wreck! But I'm optimistic that they are just setting us up for a great season #3.

Best Hawk quote: "we were enemies for a day; we're Cobra Kai for life"

It's about as stoopid as u would expect it to be
16 March 2019
No surprises here. It's about as stoopid as u would expect it to be. Some very fine bimbos; no nudity. Mostly in English. Subtitles are well done. Most of the film is watching them in Boot Camp, followed by their assault of the bad guys stronghold on an island. Pretty decent overall.

The ending will leave u speechless...
17 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
...Okay, well not speechless, but it's a nice twist on the whole revenge action movies genre. In the end the father realizes no one murdered his daughter but she dies because of her own choices and a bit of guilt perhaps as the father realizes that his daughter's choices were at least partly due to the choices he made not to be in her life.

80's/90's throwback
10 September 2018
I've watched this show since the beginning, though I'm not sure why. It's mediocre at best, but I guess it's better than most other programs on TV. It reminds me alot of those old shows from the 80's and 90's like a Magnum PI or the A-team, with a little Rambo thrown in there. That can be good or bad depending upon your perspective. Episodes are shallow, stories are predictable, and the theme is always America = good guy, the rest of the world = bad guys. Latin America, Russia, China are the most prominent targets, which again is reminiscent of Rambo or Schwarzenegger 90's flicks.

I'm glad this is the final season, b/c the show has declined steadily since season 1, which was definitely the best.

Can I get a time loop?!
7 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Groundhog Day, The Butterfly Effect, Deja Vu, Life is Strange, 12 Monkeys, the "Monday" episode of Xfiles, certainly dozens of others I haven't seen, and now Before I Fall. Can I get a time loop!

Actually, it wasn't all that bad, but how exactly is Sammy killing herself by saving the girl planning to commit suicide a win? Is the writer suggesting b/c she bullied Juliet that she deserves this fate? Is the suicide girl now going to get better after witnessing one of her tormentors death? If you know you are about to die, why lead on the kid whose had a crush on you that u never showed any interest in before? How does this benefit him? For a film that preaches doing the right thing, I don't think the writer thought through the consequences of Sammy's choice very well. Was this really the only solution to the repeating day - saving the crazy girl by pushing her out of the way and getting face planted by the truck? There weren't any better options?

The killing of two hours of your sacred time...
20 August 2018
This is the worst film I've seen in quite some time. Just awful! And I'm 1/32nd Greek! Yes, I understand it is a dark movie and you aren't supposed to enjoy it like you would a Disney film, and I know it's not just being weird to be weird, blah, blah, blah. As someone else said, I didn't care about any of the characters, so who cares what fate befalls them?! Kind of really surprised I made it through the whole film, so 2-starz for that.

Season 1
31 July 2018
Well based on most of the reviews, my opinion is in the minority, but I thought that Season 1 was by far the best. Subsequent seasons with the Red Forest Cult was nonsense. Stories get convoluted and ridiculous in subsequent seasons. Especially in seasons 3 and 4 they seemed to just make episodes for the purpose of going back in time to specific eras to showcase the Nazis, have Cole dress up like a cowboy in the old West, etc. And the story arch becomes secondary to the comedic attempts. I did like the "Brothers" episode in Season 3. I thought it was particularly well done and the cinematography splendid. Unfortunately, that episode concludes the "bromance" between Cole and Ramse, which I though was the best aspect of the later seasons. And then focus shifts too much on the Cole/Dr. Railly romance. I did enjoy the finale. In fact you can watch season 1, skip seasons 2-4, and watch the finale and you miss nothing of any signicance to the story (the aforementioned "Brothers" episode is worthwhile however).
