What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Absolutely awesome!
This is a great comedy and I will definitely watch it again and again. I am so happy that I discovered it. The acting is great, the characters are great, and the humor is just hilarious. I think that to enjoy this movie one doesn't even need to be a fan of the vampire theme. This is a piece of a good entertainment and catches the viewer attention from the very first seconds. Absolutely fabulous, not predictable when it shouldn't be, and memorable comedy for people of all age. I highly recommend watching it and I wish there was a sequel:) I put it on the list of my favorite comedies along with the Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. When I think of this movie, I am smiling:)
Backcountry (2014)
Simple movie about a bear attack
This movie could be much shorter and tell exactly the same story. Apart from these long moments it is really not bad. I must say that the lack of explicit gore is a big plus and even tho it is not blood and guts it is scary.
I think that this movie definitely encourages people to take all the possible precautions and to prepare properly for camping in the wilderness. It is a movie about a bear attack no more no less. It shows the fight for survival. The characters are simple and the plot is simple. I don't feel like I lost time watching it but I will most likely not watch it again.
Dark Honeymoon (2008)
this surely tests your patience...
These were over 80 minutes of semi unexpected boredom. First, I was wondering how it is possible to produce something like that. Then, reaching 70th minute I was convincing myself that it's only a few more minutes, and I lasted to the very end which I'm kinda proud of as I consider watching this movie as a great test for human's patience and crap tolerance. Was it worth watching at all? Well, as I wrote above, if you want to test yourself, give it a try and if you're strong willed enough, you may even last to the end... The movie lacks coherence and characters seem to have no common sense at all. All happenings in the movie, you can be sure you saw somewhere before, and they seem to be put in this movie just to fill the film reel.
Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont (2005)
One of the best movies I have ever seen...
"Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont" is one of the best movies I have ever seen. This movie made me think about life, about things that should really matter. It truly touched my heart and reminded me of time passing by and also of the surprises fate can bring.
The acting was great. You could actually be a part of the whole story and you simply do not feel like just watching it. You live it from the beginning to the very end.
I highly recommend this movie as it nicely enriches one's inside and leaves the viewer with some kind of a hope. True love, and friendship exist and there is never too late to experience them. It's good to stop for a while and gather memories just to be sure that they are still there as in the end the pictures we carry in our souls make us happier and make us feel much safer and complete.
The Stink of Flesh (2005)
Great Movie
This movie is great. Unlike many films of this kind "The Stink of Flesh" is not disturbingly predictable. On the contrary it has everything you don't expect it to have. I've enjoyed acting and dialogues. Each character has it's own interesting personality so you don't get the impression that he's there just to get killed. Music is superb. It goes very well with the action and creates a great climate of this film. I didn't find a single thing I didn't like bout "Stink". I must say that in the beginning I thought it's gonna be another cheap piece of crap but it's not. It's also not like any other horror movie and it's really worth of watching though the ending could have been better (anyway it still has its' charm:)).
