This is, for me, one of the best films of the year. It has bucketloads of humour (it really is laugh out loud in places) along with fascinating social insights and yet it's all based in fact. OK, they added one entirely fictional character, but I understand that almost all of the individuals portrayed in the film really existed and the campaign that they mounted really happened.
If you're a fan of Margaret Thatcher, you might find some parts of this to be disagreeable because, not surprisingly, it takes a very unsympathetic view of her part in the miners' strike.
That said, it's well worth going to see if you still can.
