Our heroes took the wrong approach
9 August 2023
This week, our superheroes get in a fight with the god of Hades - basically, the devil. When the devil sends his minions to fight our heroes, it's a brutal battle in which they all get beaten up pretty badly. It seems a shame to go to all that trouble when all they had to do instead was call on God, humble themselves, and trust in Jesus Christ to enable them for spiritual warfare.

I hope some herding viewer sees this episode and realizes that through Jesus Christ we can be saved, forgiven, and healed. If that you, take a moment to ask Jesus to save you. Repent from your sins, turn away from them and live your life for Jesus. He will make u new.

I tried, I really tried
6 May 2023
I just cannot imagine wasting anymore of my life watching the show, for a couple of reasons.

It's true, too many of the hosts sentences begin with "I", "Me", "My". He simply spends too much time talking about himself, his opinions, his taste etc.

But the thing that really blew my mind is when he recommended renting over homeownership! You've got to be kidding! His reasons for doing so didn't even make sense. It's like he had absolutely no training in finances whatsoever. I bought my condo 15 years ago and my monthly payment has not changed in 15 years, while all the rents in my area have skyrocketed. I couldn't believe my ears when he said that, and had to immediately turn it off.

He's had some good ideas l, like paying off your credit cards. But beyond that, you really should not watch this show for good financial advice.

The Waltons: The Sinner (1972)
Season 1, Episode 7
10/10
A very powerful ending
27 March 2023
John Ritter guest stars as a young preacher, who stumbles seriously, jeopardizing his whole future. Somehow, the Walton family manages to get him on the right track, both in his own eyes and the eyes of the community.

Another reviewer here said that "somethings missing" because Jesus is not mentioned. That's true. But that's OK, because everyone knows exactly who the people are gathered to worship, and everyone knows who provides grace and forgiveness when it's needed most. And that is Jesus Christ.

I have 95 characters left, so I've just got to say the grandpa really saves the day at the very end. You can't help but love that guy more with each episode.

Darwin's Dilemma (2009 Video)
9/10
Better than I expected
7 November 2022
Darwin himself said that if possible evidence of transitions prior to the Cambrian explosion were not found, then this would be strong evidence of special creation (paraphrased). Richard Dawkins said, "Without gradualness... we are back to a miracle" (not paraphrased). It seems like the some of the reviewers of this broadcast have a case of sour grapes. After all, modern science is extremely materialistic; They despise the idea that there might be a God who created everything.

But this evidence is quite compelling. And the truth is that the God who created us loves us very much. We just need to call out to him.

Taking the Stand: Amber Guyger (2022)
Season 1, Episode 2

Fascinating and tragic
22 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The show does an excellent job of presenting the details of the case quickly, by using the principles involved in both sides.

In this case, a female police officer was confused about which apartment she was entering. She thought she was entering her own apartment, but was actually entering and a nearly identical apartment directly above hers. She saw a man inside and in fear, shot him twice fatally.

I understand that she committed murder and it was probably due to poor training or ability to follow correct police procedures. But it was so obviously the result of a simple mistake, the kind that people can make from time to time, that I was dismayed that she received a sentence of 10 years.

I can't, I just can't
21 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't, I just can't. I am usually pretty good at suspending disbelief but I have limits. There was so much foolishness going on in the first 10 minutes of this episode that I had to turn it off. We see a spacecraft land that left earth for an interstellar destination 20 years ago and has now returned. This is currently completely impossible - We can't go that fast and stars are just too far away.. But that was OK. The thing that bugged me the most was that this ship was designed to support human life on board.... But it was sent out empty! If you're going to send it out empty, you're certainly not going to design it to support human life.

Anyway, I had to turn it off.

Elvis (2022)
3/10
Disappointingly bizarre
9 September 2022
What a strange movie, and not in a good way. The acting and story are fine. But the editing style is really annoying. You know how they make really fast cutaways when they do a montage? Now imagine almost the entire movie being edited like that. It's frustrating to try and watch.

Another strange thing was the music choices. I'm trying to watch the life of Elvis Presley in the 1950s and I keep hearing rap music. RAP music! You've got to be kidding. What on earth was the director thinking about? It was completely jarring and took me out of the movie. In fact I gave up trying to watch it.

I understand they were trying to show that Elvis got a lot of his musical ideas from the black community at that time. Fair enough. But for goodness sake, don't try to shoehorn some of today's lousy rap music into a biopic about the 1950s.

So great to watch the ending of each episode
20 August 2022
Jesus said, " It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35)

If you ever doubted it, just watch the show. I always look forward to the end when the undercover boss blesses his or her employee with meaningful gifts.

Something is Wrong
17 July 2022
I gave up after 15 minutes of non stop arguing, profanity, and yelling over each other. Life is too short to waste on this. And what does it say about our civilization that this would rate 8.5?

An excellent scientific review, not without submit steps
7 May 2022
An excellent scientific review, not without some missteps. This documentary does a good job reviewing the geologic evidence, and other scientific reasoning to support a specific date for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Though not perfect, it makes an impressive case.

Unfortunately, in the interest of padding things, the show introduces an older lady who waxes poetic about things like archetypes, purpose, and synchronicity. Blah blah blah, pretty boring, but necessary to stretch this out to an hour and a half. Also disappointing is the nerdy atheistic "scholar" of the New Testament who continues to tell us why the gospels are unreliable without without presenting evidence for his claims.

The main protagonist in this documentary is a geologist whose mission in life is to find enough evidence to support a certain date for the crucifixion. When he and the other scientists are explaining what they do and what they have found, this show is definitely at its best. Unfortunately even he spends too much time sharing his feelings, philosophies, and other extraneous information not related to the task at hand. But if you can muddle through all that and focus on the scientific evidence, it's pretty breathtaking, and definitely fascinating.

Despite the annoying commentators, it's definitely worth watching for the scientific content. I strongly recommend.

As bad as it gets
18 April 2022
How to make this documentary

1. Write and narrate your own rambling, quasi-atheistic script about the Bible.

2. Pay your nephew a few bucks to string together countless B roll stock footage that kind of illustrate what your script is saying.

3. Release it on a third rate streaming service like Tubi.

Thank you, brothers
16 March 2022
When a well done documentary is combined with the best of the music you grew up with, the result is amazing. We get to hear the stories of the Bee Gees rise to fame, their struggles, their discovery of falsetto singing, and the difficulties that the disco era brought, all in their own voice. And always in the background is the music. The beautiful, powerful, wonderful music. When I saw that they were hurt, I hurt too. I think it wouldn't have been so painful to watch if they weren't such wonderful guys. But they really were, and the result of all this is beyond poignant.

Thank you, brothers for all you gave us.

Watch, and be amazed
5 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Given the low ratings, I was downright shocked at how much I enjoyed this movie. I will grant you, if you're looking for the best acting this film probably isn't for you. And even though it started off a bit slow, in the end this movie checks all the boxes...

  • Lovable loser character who finds his calling in life? Check
  • Aliens that look like bald Neanderthals with goatees? Check
  • World War II veterans that save the world...again? Hell ya - Check
  • FA18 strike Hornets when you need them the most? Check
  • Japanese and American soldiers fighting side-by-side near Pearl Harbor? Check

  • Rihanna? Check.

Heck, even Liam Neeson shows up to add some gravitas. And all this to sell a children's board game. I am speechless. I am without speech.

All joking aside, another reviewer put it best: "the special effects are the stars of this movie". And that's not always a bad thing. It has numerous fantastic moments, and it's definitely worth your time.

Nothing special
25 December 2021
Nothing special, Unfortunately. I liked it better when it was called "51 First Dates" with Adam Sandler.

Also, is it just me or do the Xindi look just like the aliens in Galaxy Quest?

Unwatchable

Unwatchable due you the lens flares. And I mean constant lens flares. Every transition is a flare, and there are flashes going off in every scene. Flash, flash, flash, flash, flash. I was getting a headache after five minutes and gave up.

What an embarrassment
25 November 2021
What an embarrassment... for the New York Times, I mean. Over and over again, this special beats us over the head with supposed racism, where none actually existed. This show could've been a good chance to look back with amusement at the overreaction that many people had. But instead , Justin Timberlake is portrayed as the evil white oppressor while Janet Jackson is the victim. Absolutely pathetic.

Beyond disappointed
16 November 2021
Beyond disappointed. Judge Judy has stood for justice for years, A shining role model of a strong intelligent woman. That's why I simply could not believe it when I discovered how she treated Byrd so that she could hire her own granddaughter to replace him. She didn't even have the decency to let Byrd know that he would not be invited back to the new show. How is this possible for someone who spent so many years condemning behavior that was far less egregious and is already so incredibly wealthy? The hypocrisy is staggering. I could not be more disappointed in her. And I can't watch this new show.

Incredibly well done
27 October 2021
Incredibly well done. This is the story of one man who realized that the cocreator a Batman died alone, penniless, and without credit for what he has done. One man who made it his life's mission to write that wrong. He thereby became Batman for the cocreator of Batman, Bill finger.

I kept thinking how perfectly this documentary is done. The music, the interviews, the animations all serve to really move you. If you can get to the end of this with a dry eye, check your pulse :-)

The thrill is gone
12 September 2021
The thrill is gone. Buy 2014, the Seth Rogen formula was starting to wear thin. Yes there were a few smiles during the movie, but they were totally canceled by the barbaric fingers being chewed off and heads exploding. It definitely has its moments, but too much gratuitous gore for no reason.

Don't listen to the haters here
4 September 2021
Don't listen to the haters here. William Shatner does not come across as insulting or condescending in any way. Here, he plays the part of the bewildered narrator, trying to understand Trekkies. Besides, about half of this documentary is simply fans interacting with the stars. It contains a lot of very emotional moments that will touch fans.

Better than the rest
11 August 2021
Secrets of the morgue is better than the rest because it focuses on the investigation of the crime, rather than the gore of a dead body or a detailed reenactment.

The investigations done by medical examiners are fascinating. However, ID TV has had some missteps in this area. They had one show that focused on a well-known medical examiner which, unfortunately, reveled in displays of gore on the examination table. I don't know about you, but that's not my thing. Also, in the past ID TV has produced shows with far too many dramatic reenactments. So many actors and so many reenactments tend to distract from the investigation. But not so in secrets of the morgue. Instead, they simply re-create the crime scene visually with no actors. It's a very powerful effect and one of the things that makes this show compelling.

Super long, super violent
11 August 2021
Not to mention super confusing and super gratuitous. Why would anyone want to see all the horrifyingly gory violence? Who wants to sit through a movie that's almost 4 hours long? Plus it's hard to keep the plot the characters straight when you're thrown into a universe with so many characters.

Better than usual!
7 July 2021
Better than the usual Daredevil episode for a couple reasons. First of all, there is more happening in this episode do you don't have to sit through quite as much exposition as usual. Also, they took the epic martial arts fight at the end of the story and basically spread it out throughout this episode, trying to break up the monotony LOL.

Fundamentally important series totally corrupted by politics. Yuck
29 June 2021
Netflix blatantly pollutes this otherwise useful series with constant barrage of left wing silliness. At first I was confused by the frequent use of silly cartoons to illustrate financial points. But after watching this show divide everyone into white oppressors versus victims of color, It made sense. The cartoons are necessary because the show is directed at young leftists. How embarrassing. This could've been a useful and practical, even helpful show for young and old alike. Unfortunately, it's unwatchable.
