Sealed with a List (2023)
A Fun Holiday Movie
I, too, am a husband that unwittingly gets involved in watching these Hallmark type rom-coms. While I try to occupy my attention elsewhere, some of these movies actually attract my attention. For the third time this season I have found another entertaining holiday movie (this one goes through the month of December to the new year). Also, the characters look different. This time the main characters didn't involve a tall, handsome man and a perfectly made up blonde leading lady (no disrespect to blonde actresses but that's all that seem to show up most times). There was a short haired brunette with a cute , quirky smile and laugh and a male lead that wasn't so big that he took up the whole scene. And they could act! It was one of the more fun movies to watch this season for sure.
Holiday Road (2023)
Much, much better for a Hallmark type movie
My wife is constantly watching these movies, especially the Christmas ones. Of course I'm always within view of them so I'll watch the odd one. Most of the time they are very "meh" rom-com stories, but this one, is one of the best they have put out! It has a different, decent story with good characters and I actually enjoyed sitting through it. I even got a little emotional. Different people from all kinds of different lifestyles coming together is what a Christmas movie should represent. I've heard this is based on actual events so maybe this is why it came out so well done. Sure, it's not "It's a Wonderful life" and the music is still weak, but If they made more like this I would actually watch.
The Green Hornet (2011)
Just plain Awful!
Absolutely the worst "Reboot" I've never finished. It's the only movie I could not finish watching, and I've seen lots of pretty bad ones. Seth Rogan should not have been allowed to touch something like this. The only "good thing"(?) About this was they kept the car, which has always been awesome. But still not good enough to keep me even remotely interested. The script was brutal and acting worse, even for a superhero flick. I wasn't expecting Batman, but this was almost insulting. Way too much on the camp. They could have done way better! Green Hornet was one of my favorite 60s heroes. Shame...
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
Better than expected
The main plot takes from the original "Three Men and a Baby" movie. I am a 50+ yr old male that loves his Christmas TV, music, etc. My wife loves her Hallmark movies and it's usually the one thing I'm not fond of (usually boring and predictable). However, THIS one I really enjoyed. The "brothers" characters played off of each other very well which made this a very entertaining movie. The script was one of the better written ones, with lots of implied humour between the brothers arguing like a married couple. Still predictable but, once into it, was worth the watch. The baby also did a good job lol.
