The Proud Family (2001)
Can't you laugh a little? Like Damn...
I am a 17 year old black girl from Columbus, Ohio and all I have to say is all of you who are speaking negatively about this show need to take a SERIOUS CHILL PILL. Like seriously. As a kid, I loved the show and the "negative stereotypes that were going to completely ruin the way our youth would interact with one another" haven't affected me one way or another. Honestly, I grew up in an inner-city school meaning I had friends from all different backgrounds. The show didn't at all affect the way we interacted and even looking back now we can reminisce on good memories of watching the show and how funny it was. The characters were obviously overly stereotyped for HUMOR, not to be perfect role models or representatives for different groups people. Laugh a little and stop being so serious and analytical of this show.. Now if you REALLY want a show that should have never been made take a look at Gravity Falls.... *cough cough* illuminati... anti-Christ...evil spirits... Seriously, Open your eyes and Move your neck a little...
13 Reasons Why: Tape 7, Side A (2017)
Chilllllll
I just finished the show last night and for those of you that are complaining about the "unanswered questions" its was very clear, for me, a high school junior, to be able to detect that there would be a second season without researching it. My reasoning being they added a lot of new conflict in this episode, leaving opportunity for all questions to be answered and conflict resolved in a future season.
As for the rest of it, the show was excellent. It really made me reflect on my life as an individual and helped put things in perspective. I loved the characters because I could recognize their personas in the kids I face at school daily.
The death scene was powerful. Honestly, I REALLY didn't want to watch it but I made myself do it so that I would be forced to acknowledge the fact that I had just watched 12 episodes of this girl, Hannah, spilling out her heart, being tortured from the outside in, for my own personal interest but when things got to the realest they could possibly be, I wanted to stop watching because I was uncomfortable. It was important for me to see the ugly rawness of it all because suicide is serious and we can't just look away because it makes us uncomfortable.
Austin & Ally (2011)
Started out okay...
Six words: They dragged it out too long. The show started out decent enough, a little predictable at times, as most youth TV shows are, but decent nonetheless. Eventually they started wrapping up all of the "conflicts" throughout the seasons, i.e.. Ally's stage fright, Austin and Ally's undying love for one another, Ally leaving her friends for college, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc. but eventually they just ran out of ideas and began spewing nonsense onto the screen which resulted in complete garbage that I immediately change channels from. Towards the end of the series' run the episode plots became ridiculous, causing me to ask the creators of the show a slew of questions: -how is that even a real issue? -in real life when have you seen a legit person act/talk/think/dress this way? ever? -were you playing the "how many clichés can I fit into one series" game? -did we just forget about ally's gorilla researching mom, who was low-key cool forreal, and continue to deal with her boring cliché dad? -why did you have to ruin the last half decent show on Disney channel?
I have one last point to make before I submit this: Remember K.I.S.S, keep it simple stupid; don't ruin a good thing by dragging it out too far... like this comment.
Cinderella (2015)
I paid $10.25 to watch Frozen Fever, not actually Cinderella...
What a great movie!!! I loved it! Oh yeah, the Cinderella bonus feature after the movie was pretty good too, I guess... Similarly to many others, I was bribed into viewing Cinderella full priced because the movie producers kind of forced us only be able to see Frozen Fever if we saw Cinderella afterward. I got to the theater super extra special early, plotted my seat out for the optimum viewing experience with my jumbo $14 popcorn and my $6 16oz drink and I sat through the duration of the previews until finally I saw the logo for Frozen Fever and literally everyone in the theater sat forward eager to see the short. It was amazing and totally worth my $10.25... I didn't really have any money left so I couldn't actually go see another movie (hence the $11 dollar ticket and $20 worth of snacks) and I didn't have a ride yet so I was kind of stuck there awkwardly with these strangers and the movie started playing so I decided to just watch... Allow me to just say that I wasn't completely bored out of my skull, but Cinderella (2015) just didn't do the 1950 version justice... My favorite part was watching the animations of the transformation of the carriage and most definitely looking at her dress in general... Besides that I am really impartial towards it.
