At first I wasn't convinced.. and just like that

It won me over. Initially I agreed with the low voters bothered by the "hyper-woke" theme, but then I realized this was about where these ladies are now. Trying to adapt and also stay themselves in a world of quickly revolving social norms. What does it mean to be woke but not for the sake of trendiness? There is a play on this as some viewers interpret this series to be doing just that- for being on trend, which is in and of itself a problematic motivator, which the series subtlety winks its awareness of through the storylines. A perfect fit for the psychological thresholds of that age of adult development.

Charlottes youngest daughter storyline finds to be particularly satisfying so far -from her pregnancy challenges, and Rose's temperament as a baby all add up to make it a very special and realistic mother-daughter storyline. It's nice to see that dose of "real-life" along Charlottes park avenue fanciness. Exemplified by Harry & Rose scootering through the McDougal fancy flat.

The directing and whole vibe feels just like where it left off- the series, not SATC2. The music from SATC1, the ladies brunch, shoes, and good talks around the city feel like home.

Seeing our favorite characters slowly pop up in episode 1 is a delight. Of course it would be a joy to see Samantha, but real life has its limits, let it be and try to enjoy the ride. It's part of life, letting go of things & people we always knew, but finding comfort in ourselves, our ride/dies (literally) and give respect & love to the whole journey of self.

And just like that... does just that. It reminds us that, like our own lives, things that seemed extraordinary at one time fade into the history of our story and we keep one foot in front of the other, while still honoring all that we've been through. And it always helps to have some good people around to witness it.
