Boring depressing trash.

Save your money. You just get frustrated at these people's lack of any intelligence. They have no interpersonal skills, no negotiation skills, no parenting skills, no planning skills. Yet they are somehow victims of the system.

Ride Like a Girl (2019)

Every Australian should see this film.

Ride Like a Girl is easily the best Australian movie since Gallipoli. It is also probably the best horse racing movie from anywhere ever and I have seen a lot of them because my partner loves horses. Where to start? The great shots of one of the most beautiful parts of rural Victoria are stunning. The cast is superb. Teresa Palmer, Sam Neill and Stevie Payne playing himself are all 10/10. There is an added bonus of some much loved faces in the supporting cast such as Magda Szubanski, Mick Molloy and Shane Bourne. The racing scenes are exciting and authentic. The integration of actual footage from the 2015 race is very professionally done. Sure, it is a tear-jerker but most horse movies are. But it is a true story of an inspirational young woman who Australia should be immensely proud of. As Molly would say, do yourself a favour and see this one.

The Game (2014–2015)

Superb BBC Quality

The Game is an absolutely first rate Cold War mini-series from the BBC set in the 1970's. The 70's feel is palpably conveyed through the authentic use of the fashions, hairstyles, vehicles and music from that decade. The plot is complex and intelligent with lots of twists and turns and will appeal to Le Carré fans. The acting is absolutely superb all round. The scenes inside the Security Service show that most of the people working there are paper shufflers rather than James Bond action types which is probably a more realistic portrayal. My only gripe is that it was only 6 episodes but as is often the case with the BBC, quality trumps quantity. If I could only have one station on my pay TV service it would definitely be the BBC. The quality of British productions in recent times, both on the big screen (e.g. Tinker Tailor, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything) and small screen (The Game, Peaky Blinders, The Honourable Woman), has been absolutely outstanding.
